Key for the Falcons: Stop the read option and keep Kaep in the pocket and force him to pass...

If the can't do that... long day for the Birds..

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

I have a soft-spot for the Falcons. It's good to watch a team you can allow yourself to root for. I'd love to see them win it all. I've liked their talent for YEARS.

Well this blows. How long do you let them go before putting Smith in?

Smith isn't getting in this game. You don't make the decision Harbaugh made and then second guess it in the NFC Championship game. This is a pathetic performance by San Francisco, thusfar. Luckily, for 49'er fans, there is a whole lot of football left. I love Atlanta's game plan. They're simply throwing the ball against the 49'ers. I think Tom Brady threw for over 300 yards in the second half against this defense. I said at the time that even though New England lost the game, San Francisco's defense was absolutely exposed in that game. You would think San Francisco would at least show up for the game. This is ugly!

Niners playing WAY too conservative! Kaep has 1 run? WTF? Nice to see Davis hit his stride on that drive.

I'm with you on the Kaepernick running angle. I've never been a big fan of running QB's, because it simply has never worked in the NFL, long-term. Having said that, the dude had almost 200 yards rushing by himself last week. The one run he had in this game went for 20 yards. I don't understand why they're not even trying to get him moving. Ultimately, they're hanging in there, but it doesn't appear their defense has any interest in playing today.

Akers is awful. Horrid play calling by sf too in the red zone... Why do anything but throw it to moss or Davis there?

Sort of looks like the Falcons want to give the game away again. This may turn out like last week's game against the Seahawks.

The Falcons have had a Super Bowl team for years, been missing a key puzzle to how they do things. Not sure what they need to do. Not blowing 2 possesion leads is a good start! Haha good game, congrats 9'er fans!

I agree with Coach on that call, ball hit the ground.

The ball is allowed to now. They changed the rule. As long as the reciever shows possession. The Ball hit, but his hand held firm under the ball which signifies possession. The old NFL, it's incomplete.

wow... congrats to the 9ers for adjusting to the Falcons taking away the outside running lane for the read option.. forced Kaep to actually be a pocket passer.. ATL made him earn it...

9ers had too many other weapons... glad to see VD getting the ball..

I feel I am calm enough to post now. That was nerve racking. I'm so excited for my kids. It was thrilling.

I'm concerned at how little Kaepernick was able to run. I was VERY concerned at how many 10 to 15 yard catches ATL. The whole damn game. Very frustrating. But the held up and got the win. That will serve them well in years to come.

This next game will be fun to watch now. :)

Game, Set, Match! Tough to beat a team who you can't score against. I commend Baltimore's defense for coming to play. Congratulations to 49'er fans and Ravens fans. I can hardly wait for the two week long "Harbaugh Bowl" Circle Jerk!

Dude....

This game has been over since the second half started. AWFUL performance by the Patriots in the second half, and a game that they absolutely, positively deserved to lose.

Yea. Gonna be a lot of Harbaugh talk I imagine. Must be exciting for the family.

Baltimore played them great. A rarity at any point in the season.

Gloat away. I've been following the NFL long enough to understand that even getting to this game is REALLY, REALLY hard. Good season for the Patriots with a disappointing ending. I believe Brady has one more run in him for next season. They absolutely did not deserve to win this game and should be embarrassed by how they played in the second half!

^Lmao. Good work Baltimore, totally deserved. They weren't the best team in football, but they sure did earn their way to New Orleans. Congrats Ed! You may be holding another trophy there soon.

I'm starting to like this pick. Tough to think that Kaepernick isn't going to stumble at some point.

Flacco is so unpredictable. This game really is a hard one to predict. If 49ers come out fast instead of the way they did today, I think the Ravens will be toast. They're not built for a shoot out in my mind. Even with a torchible pass defense, I don't know if Flacco can be consistent enough to take advantage of it.

I didn't pick the Ravens this post-season. Why start now? 9'ers over Ravens by 14.

Truth be told, I'm pulling for the 49'ers all the way. As great of a career that Ray Lewis has had, the guy is an insufferable fucking DOUCHE! His making this all about him is puke inducing. That said, I think the Ravens have a very good chance of winning this game. Flacco has shown that he can throw the ball down the field and San Francisco's defense has shown that they allow it to happen.
