They did. But they are a different team now, so it's hard to predict. Kaep is such an unknown in this space. Of course, Smith would be an unknown as well.

I think Niners have the edge, but it's a slim one. Current line is Niners -4.5. I hate the two week wait, but like that everyone gets to be a little healthier.

The amazing stat of the day for me is that both home teams were shutout in the second half. That's pretty crazy.

I was surprised by the lack of intensity by New England. This game felt over at half time.
No Brady rallying the troops on the sideline, Baltimore wanted it more. Flacco made some nice plays
And there defense played well.

I think I remember seeing the stat that this was the first time the Patriots have lost with Brady as QB after being ahead at halftime. They were something like 66-0. That team just doesn't lose leads like that.

Right, and Mark Sanchez is right behind him on that list.

I don't disagree with you. I was simply pointing out how meaningless that stat is! Good timing on Flacco's part. Dude is a free agent at the end of the season and he's going to make a fortune!

They will have to pay the man. Especially if he wins in 2 weeks.

Guys there is nothing like living in your hometown when your team is going to the Super Bowl. It's going to be a fun 2 weeks. Also to echo what John said, it's just cool when your team makes it this far. I was happy with this season regardless of what last night's outcome would have been.

Absolutely. There's nothing like the parade if you win it, though. It's a huge, massive party. When Steelers won XLIII, me and my buddies woke up at 5 a.m and got our spot downtown Pittsburgh and stood there for 10 hours in the relentless winter cold and it was the best time you could ask for. People were in the trees, hanging out of windows. Polamalu was fan-surfin, haha. Good stuff. If Balty wins it, you gotta go to the parade.

Not me! I started this season knowing this was a super bowl run year. I was very concerned that they screwed it up with the QB change, though I guess it worked out. I also was concerned that it took until yesterday for the Niners to win 3 games in a row. But I was not going to be happy in the least if they didn't make it to the dance this year. There were enough frustrations to be angry about, such as a loss and tie to the Rams and that shit performance against Seattle.

That said, I am happy, even if they lose because I think Baltimore is a great team with some guys that deserve to be there. I know the Niners are young, as far as not many on the team with rings.

Speaking of that tie with the Rams, thank God that wasn't a loss. SEA would have taken the division, the Niners would have had the extra game, and I think their chances of making it all the way would have been very slim.

Dean was with us at the time. Jeff was asking if he could wear an Orioles jersey. We were like "I don't know". He asked about a Redskins jersey which I said was completely unacceptable in Baltimore. I think Dean and I convinced him to to just take one for the team. It's been a long time though. I do know that Jeff was against this, so his Steelers fan reputation is in tact.

I had a jersey for him that wasn't Ray Lewis. They had asked me to provide one but by showtime they had they had already found that one. Can't blame me.

Wow, did the Pats get spanked last night, or what? No team not named the Ravens has beaten the Pats by more than 8 points since 2007.

I have no problem with the franchise itself, but I have a HUGE problem with Lewis the Ripper constantly referring to God, and trying to claim God is intervening and helping the Ravens win. Given that there are two murderers on the team, I would have to believe that God would probably be doing whatever He could to help the OTHER team win, if you actually want to believe that He gets involved with NFL wins and losses and over/unders.

I think Baltimore's going to win the whole thing, as much as I hate to admit it. Ray Lewis is going to absolutely murder the Forty-Whiners' offensive line. He's going to kill them. And Terrell Thugs is going to manslaughter Davis and San Francisco's short game. Lewis is literally going to stab and eviscerate his opponents in two weeks, and he's going to win the football game earlier that night, too.

I'll be absolutely shocked if the ravens don't get buttfucked in a bad way by San Fran. The AFC was junk this year, and San Fran is a far better team.

I do have to hand it to flacco though. I rip on him mercilessly, but he has proven even to me that he's a bona ride playoff gamer.

Bro, I have heard that for the last 3 weeks.

2nd year QB against a battle tested team that just went through Brady AND Manning?

Anything is possible for sure, but we'll see.

Brady's and mannings corpses? Look at their respective records, schedules, and overall talent level on those new engkand and denver teams. Neither is very good, and both qbs are shells of what they used to be. San Fran is young, wayyyy more talented, and is going to be a completely different animal. At this point, the specter of kaepernick's youth is a ghost not worth worrying about as a miners fan-the guy has been unshakable, including in a playoff blowout of a qb some might say is the best in the league right now in Rodgers

Kaep won against Cutler, Brees, Brady, Rogers, Ryan. Just saying. Plus Niners have a higher rated defense. I'd say as a team the Niners are pretty battle tested, no?

Shells of what they used to be? You do realize Manning and Brady were 1-2 in QBR this year, right? You do know that Brady has 197 TD's and only 45 INT's in his last 80 games, the best performance over a five season span of any QB in the history of the NFL, right?
