Set list for the House of Blues Myrtle show last night.

Postby swwskj » Sun Feb 17, 2013 11:54 pm

Great show last night. Crazy in that it snowed last night here at the beach. For those keeping score, it was a Chuck show. He came out at 3 points to join in. Are there any shows he doesn't play at? I've seen Styx 4 times since his 'retirement' and he's been at 3 of them. Also the House of Blues stage is somewhat small, so there's little room for a light show and you just concentrate on the concert.

I was pleasantly surprised to see they dug a little deeper and played some b side material. Thankfully they stayed away from the solo material...criminal mind, high enough, Etc... They have plenty of their own songs to play those. Despite Tommy having a chest cold, they sounded great as usual. Larry was entertaining as always. They even snuck in a 'new' song into the list. Probably the best set list I've seen them play.

Blue collar man
Grand illusion
One with everything
Fooling yourself
Lady
Lorelei
Man in the wilderness
Miss America
I'm ok
Crystal ball
Light up
Too much time on my hands
Come sail away
--------
Rocking the paradise
Renegade

Hope you in Orlando have a great time tonight!

Did Lawrence sing all of Light Up?

I really think Lawrence would do a better job with it.

He did a fine job of it. Gowan had enough songs to cover. JY took advantage of the moment to tie in a 1975 history lesson and tie it into Colorado and Washington legalizing weed. He said if we'd legalize it nationally, the tax revenue would make the country solvent.

Yeah, that's what the world needs - JY's policy viewpoints...

JY must have caught the "Uncle Ted Rant" virus. 8)

The other thing about his statement is that it is completely wrong and shows that for all his "intellect," JY needs to buy a clue. I've read that legalizing marijuana nationally might bring in 100B in annual tax revenues. That is a far cry from the 17 TRILLION needed to wipe out the deficit.

My god, you guys will piss and moan about anything...
JY's point was obviously a joke. My god boys. Get a grip.
If Dennis had made the joke, you'd all be laughing your asses off.

He prefaced it by saying how much revenue it was going to generate for Colorado and Washington. He sounded pretty serious to me, but I figured it had to be a joke since there is no way we'd be 'financially solvent' by doing it. JY-stone faced joke master.

He's forgetting to factor in that if more people start smoking it because it's legal it will increase the cost of healthcare. It's just as bad for your lungs as cigarettes are.

This is taking a while to digest for me and will take some getting
used to. I love JY but this is not the song for him. I guess we
should be thankful their playing it at all.

If I was forced to choose whether to hear J.Y. or Gowan sing it, I would say Gowan would be less damaging to my ears! :D

I thought it was spin the keyboard err.. the bottle that was used to determine who was going to sing it. 8)
