Goin' Home 2013

Love that the band has the balls to play this (great) little released tune. Maybe 4-5 people in the crowd have heard it. They don't care. Awesome.

Christ. I would shit myself if I saw them play that.

Granted, at this point, living in Nashville, I'd shit myself if I got to see them at all. But still...what a song.

Also played down a whole step, and fits Joe's current voice pretty well. Glad they're reconsidering the keys of some of these tunes, not sure why they didn't do that more with Bobby.

In the new interview, Luke says they did de-tune for Bobby. I saw him on the FIB tour and was pretty impressed by his power and range. Granted, he drank alot of water and the set was shared among the singers (Luke, Spinner) to give him a break.

Some of those Kimble songs are brutally high. Imagine having to sing GIRL GOODBYE in its original key when you're in your 60s? Oi!

A very good performance of a great song. It's always blown my mind that this was a rejected B-side. Such a great track.

They probably did, but it wasn't obvious. Obviously a lot depends on the guitars. "Goin' Home" is just power chords rather than a distinct riff like "Girl Goodbye" that'd be difficult to transpose. Now i'm gonna have to go back and see what they transposed in the Bobby era. Not thinking of anything off the top of my head.

Always liked this GIRL GOODBYE. Bobby's struggling a bit on the really high chorus, but the band still sounds awesome

He wasn't having a great night at that Yokohama show, but I kept the bootleg since it had songs cut from Livefields ("Cruel" and "Mad About You," most prominently). The Livefields versions of "White Sister" and "Goodbye Girl" are my go-to versions of those tracks. Just killer.

Are you telling me that there is a decent live recording of "Mad About You" out there? I always LOVED that song. Is there a way to get a copy?
