Tommy Deander is to Lukather what Josh Ramos is to Schon

If you can't get Luke, this guy is the best around. Great tone and real technical prowess. I would see Bobby just to see Tommy shred. The clip includes I'll Be Over You/ Child's Anthem/ Gift with a Golden Gun etc.

But very repetitive tone on recorded works. Always sounds the same unfortunately.

Care to elaborate and explain yourself? At first blush, this sounds like a really asinine comment. As you well know, the best guitar players all have signature tones that are readily identifiable. Not sure how a "repetitive tone" could be a negative. Perhaps you mean he resorts to the same stock riffs, licks, etc.? Please explain.

Really liked what he did on I'll Be Over. That song is just begging for tasteful guitar work like that. Missed Luke the most on the Gift With a Golden Gun parts.

Typical of Andrew's anti-Bobby bias. The guy simply can't say anything nice.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Andrew's comment about Tommy?

And whose band is Tommy in, in the above mentioned clip? And what songs is he playing? This is just the latest in a string of back-handed disparaging insults toward anything Bobby-related. I have been here for years. Andrew plays favorites. Anything to stay in the good graces of Godfather Lukather. Fall in line, or no advance cd copies for you!

You really are an enormous tool these days.

You really have no idea of the back story behind anything.

Read my reviews of anything of Tommy's projects. Every album he produces has the same guitar tone, same sampled drums and same overall production sound. Very tinny and normally quite a thin sound - most notably due to lack of a drummer.

Nothing I haven't said to Tommy myself or in my reviews. I simply have got very tired of that sound after 150 records featuring his production.

Tommy sounds best when he's under the control of someone else - the Chris Ousey record is one, the Jimi Jamison live album is another.

Bobby has always been super nice to me. I respect him a great deal for that.
He also sounded fabulous on Falling In Between and Mindfields.

How's them apples?

I haven't changed. However, since you moved into the concert promoter business with MRFest, you have apparently developed an Irving Azoff-sized ego and become a smug dickhead of gargantuan proportions.

I will simply wait to buy Luke's tell-all book.

LOL

That's actually very funny. I like that. Sadly not though. Running MRF is anything but glamorous. In fact, I'm not getting any further info the concert promotion business at all. A pain in the ass for little return.

I'm just taking the piss, Drew. You know you're still my favorite wombat. TOTO has been privileged to have some of the very best rock vocalists in the biz, a fact I'm sure you will mention in the 35th anniversary DVD liner notes. Viva la TOTO and MelodicRock.com!
