So what are you expecting him to do when it comes to his looks? Dye his hair wear some hipster clothing or what? In my opinion, I'd rather see him be real and himself. Meaning not trying to hide his age. I think when artists do that it's so obvious and I don't take them as seriously. When artists start to do those things to me it just shows how shallow they are. I think the 100 year old grandpa thing is a stretch. He's 67 and in my opinion seems to look pretty good and in shape for his age. I remember when he was dying his hair especially in the late nineties. It was so obvious I was glad he stopped. When I go to see someone perform, I am there to enjoy the musical performance. No to take in what they look like or are wearing. It's about the music. This is one of the big issues with the music today. It's more about looks then musical talent. Image above substance.
i understand and respect your position......i just feel a bit differently about it. i guess the best way I could describe it is that you see some people tastefully hold on to their youths without overdoing it......then there are people who way over do it.
I guess where i'm coming from is that it has more to do with ddy's stage presence than his look, although his look does nothing to embrace the "rock star mode". My big issue with ddy actually centers around his cheesy stage persona.......over the years I have grown used to it and it doesnt bother me like it did.....but overall ddy has never really played the part of the rock star in the typical manner.
and ultimately all of this means nothing.....i was just trying to explain myself......his look or stage persona has never affected my like of his music......i just mostly prefer to hear dennis vs watch him.
