I said next season, not this season. And FOX is absolutely a graveyard for genre TV shows. People forget that even The X-Files performed unremarkably until it was moved to Sundays after The Simpsons. Let's count the scifi/fantasy shows which FOX shit canned prematurely - The Tick, Dark Angel, Sliders, Terminator, VR5, Brimstone, Roar, Firefly, Dollhouse, Harsh Realm, Millennium, Lone Gunmen, Terra Nova etc. etc.

I will say that Netflix's Daredevil show will probably have movie quality production values and rock.

I know what you said. I think you're writing off Gotham way too soon. I've been watching it and it's very good, not cheesy or campy at all. I'm not saying it's the best all-time television drama that's ever been, but Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Robin Lord Taylor are doing a bang-up job.

Gotham is set in the Batman universe, which automatically makes it more marketable than a lot of things. The Tick was hilarious and unfairly relegated to the discard pile. Wasn't Sliders on for something like five years? The Lone Gunmen should have been given another chance but I don't think it rated too highly.

You'll get no sympathy from me about those other shows, though Terra Nova started off alright. Stephen Lang is a great actor in my book. I'm no fan of Firefly, though. Sorry!

The Marvel Netflix series don't come out till 2015 and will probably have budgets on par with an AMC series. Have you watched Gotham at all? It doesn't look cheap. I guesstimate Daredevil will have a look along those lines. Don't expect hi-falutin' villainry and tech on Daredevil. He's basically Batman without the gear. His stomping ground is Hell's Kitchen. It was one of my favorite books growing up as a comics fan, and I pray that they source Frank Miller's overhaul of the character as much as possible, though other writers, like Denny O'Neil and Kevin Smith (yes, that Kevin Smith) wrote the character very well, too. I'm certain Vincent D'Onofrio's take on Wilson Fisk/Kingpin will be awesome.

Even with Goyer's involvement, it could be a radically different take on the material than MOS. So I will reserve judgement.

I'm not disagreeing with you. At the top of the page I wrote they have a pattern of swapping out old for new. The execs do it like they change their underwear. I'm surprised Gotham is on Fox, but it is because they outbid the other networks. If they extended their order for a full season from a half-season, they must be somewhat pleased. I'll be very surprised if it doesn't make it to S3.

I don't think Krypton will be radically different from Goyer's take because it's based on his take, storywise. Visually, Snyder was inspired by the SF stories he read in Heavy Metal as a kid. So maybe there will be some leeway in the visuals, but if they can use the movie as a launching pad, they shouldn't deviate too heavily. If they go back many years before Zod and Jor-el, they can cook up all kinds of stuff.

Weird that he bailed. Robin Lord Taylor (Oswald Cobblepot) is doing a great job. He's a sniveling, duplicitous fuck.

I have been watching Gotham since the first show and think it's good show. I thought I'd give it a try even though out of all the DC superhero's, he's not one of my favorites. Since I always DVR "Sleepy Hollow" (which is awesome), and watch both of them when I feel like it and not just when I have the time to. I think these networks give on up shows way to fast because of rating's. The fact is, like myself and others, I might wait until 3 full DVR episodes are ready and then watch all of them back to back to back. I also DVR "Arrow" and "Flash" now and I enjoy both of them for what they are, entertainment.

Marvel just announced their slate all the way through May 2019.

The third Avengers film, Infinity War, will be split into two parts.

Captain Marvel gets her own movie barely two months after Part I, so that movie gets the best kind of insurance it possibly can. No risk.

Solo Black Panther, too.

Warner's announcement obviously informed Marvel's. Not that there's anything wrong with that. They've been doing this for 50+ years.

Paul Rudd is one of my favorite actors. I think I'm really going to like Ant Man. I have a great gut-feeling about it. Looks pretty sweet and I think Rudd is going to surprise.

And it was good to see a more darker, edgier approach for AV2 (wait, I thought superhero movies weren't supposed to be edgy? ). That's simply what I like in my superhero movies and I think I'll dig AV2 more now that they seem to be going into a more serious direction, only if it's just a tad dribble of it. The goofiness will be there but atleast I know I'll be into it this time around.

Wow, if that schedule goes than Aquaman and Wonder Woman are going to struggle.

I have no idea what Marvel's version of Ragnarok is but I know the Norse version is EPIC...Odin dies, Thor dies...an incredibly huge war of the gods.

It is smart to put Justice League 1 to a Fall release. And, it will be interesting to see Avengers and JL go head to head in 2019.

In Marvel's universe, nothing is ever written in stone. I do know I've read that they were going to make Thor a girl in the future, so something could be brewing in Ragnarok. I find that incredibly motherfucking stupid if they go thru with that, especially since Thor has always been my favorite Marvel Super Hero.

I stopped buying comic books when the price became ridiculous and sold most of my collection years ago and never looked back, although I'm elated that all these super hero's have know come to or are coming to life on the big screen. By the way, to all the haters, The Green Lantern was fucking awesome!

Thor:TDW was easily the worst out of all Marvel movies. Loki needs to carry that franchise in my opinion. CH is great but Thor is by far the most bland out of them all. Loki on the other hand can carry. That's what TDW was missing. More Loki, who people want to see.

That's what they do to sell more books, they shake shit up. Nothing will ever beat Walt Simonson's legendary '80s run on Thor. The Dark World was almost entirely based on that era, and Ragnarok will be, but the problem is the screenwriters always aim to streamline the material and shoehorn unnecessary stuff in.

RR wasn't the prob, GJ was...as in Geoff Johns. Unless somebody can prove otherwise, he's the reason we got another talking cloud for a villain. That, and the BS about the GL Corps not zooming in to defend the Earth.

Comic Rangarok and movie Rangarok can be totally two different things. It may take adaptions and elements from that story, but it could totally be its own thing. BvS is taking adaptions from Frank Millers TDKR but it's going to be its own story to what they built.


I wouldn't be surprised to see a female Thor takeover eventually, especially with all these 'phases.' They went as far as to introduce a woman as the new Thor recently in the comics and if received well, who knows what direction they can take. It won't affect me either way, though. Thor's cool but basically out of anyone, Thor is the least appealing to me. I would actually dig a female Thor to be honest. I'd be more interested. I never bought a Thor comic in my life until now:

Whenever you can get around to it, you have to read Walt Simonson's run on The Mighty Thor. It did for that title what Frank Miller did for Daredevil. This is the cover for the Omnibus edition.



And speaking of Thor and Ragnarok, IDW is letting Walt Simonson write and draw his own take on the Thor mythos with his very own venture titled — guess what? — Ragnarok. I've only read the first issue but it's killer. I love Walt's art.

I always said that Marvel exploded excitement to their movies by giving fans an end-credit scene to look forward to see what was next. With Man of Steel, in every showing I went to, about 85% of the audience stayed to see an "end credit" scene to see if there was anything coming next and everyone left dissapointed. I always said that hurt Man of Steel's word of mouth because people were probably like "that's it?" because of nothing to see what was coming next.

Turns out, Zack Snyder had a post-credit scene lined up for the next movie but Nolan didn't allow him to do it because he doesn't believe in post-credit scenes. Snyder mentioned before about a piece of Kryptonite being delivered to Wayne Manor. I bet that was his post-credit scene to set up Batman.
