Actually, both Steve & Alan have been married for several decades, as far as I know, so even alimony isn't an excuse for this.
One of my favorite bands of all time, but even I wish they would hang it up now. Do the gigs you were already contracted for, but then either do one last hurrah with John & Rick (and Trevor, while we're at it, why not?) or hang it up out of respect for both Squire and the legacy of the band and music they created.
I don't begrudge them continuing to tour or play Yes music, but just properly bill the band as "Steve Howe & Alan White" or, y'know, something else that properly states exactly what people are buying tickets to.
But really, Alan can barely play the drums anymore...I enjoyed last year's show for what it was, but watching Alan struggle through those tunes was tough at times. He's done. And Howe has decades of solo stuff to tour on (or he could rejoin Asia) and presumably plenty of Yes money to last him for the rest of his life (which can't be much longer, I mean...he's basically Skeletor with a guitar at this point)
