100 % Ethiopian cotton. The people who picked that made 16 cents an hour.

Pretty Damn funny, but if you look today (Feb 17) at the front page of Melodicrock.com you will find some band named Inglorious on the front. The are promoting new album. The girl(model) pushing this band is all decked out in a 100% Ethiopian hand spun cotton shirt. The shirt looks kind of dated( 11 cents per hour). She is also sporting an 'Oh Mamma' necklace and looking into a Crystal Ball.

The irony of it all!!!!!!!

So, what did you end up buying? It seems every couple months or so you end up browsing their merchandise. You have must be spending a lot of money on Styx stuff since you are over there so often. You must be over there looking for something to buy, otherwise you are just being an asshole.

The sad part is that most excitement coming from them is merchandise and focusing on an album they put out THIRTEEN years ago. Word has been put out that they are working on putting out new material. One would think they would be focusing on promoting that on their website then this other stuff.

Oh, really. You must have bought something then. They must be making a ton money from you given the fact you spend so much time over there. Are you getting tired of DDY bathwater and have switched to Tommy's coffee? That explains a lot...you have to keep going back to replenish your supply.

I think the point trying to be made with this post is that instead of a band focusing on their music, their focusing on their merchandise. As I mentioned above they have been making statements about new music this year. One would think that they would be focused on pushing that not merchandise. Other classic bands usually put the focus on their new music when they are working on a new release.

But, the point being made is instead of a 'fan' focusing on the music, we have the anti-fan Toph who is a creepy online stalker asshole who hangs out at artists websites that he supposedly hates just looking for crap to whine about. Stalk, stalk, stalk, whine, whine, whine.

I'm not sure how you can stalk a website. But, doesn't effect the point that here they are mentioning new music and the recent focus on the main page of their website is trinkets and an article about an album that was put out a long time ago. Not mention an album that basically went nowhere.

Are you really that dense? The point he is trying to make is that while other classic bands focus on their music new or old, Styx instead is focusing on selling trinkets. As a fan which would you rather have, trinkets or some new music or having them do something interesting with their music catalog? If they are truly interested in releasing new material, don't you think fans would rather be hearing about that then the next greatest trinket offering? One would think that they would want to at least try to create some buzz about the new material. I believe that they have eluded that for quite some time they have been working in the studio during their down time. Why not put up a teaser clip of a song they have been working on? Why not post updates on how the material is coming along and how excited they are about putting out something new for their dedicated fans to enjoy? I think what we have here is that some just simply won't objectively criticize anything the current Styx says or does. Instead, it's easier just to criticize the messenger because of their dislike for the current Styx.

You really are dense. I said "As a fan which would you rather have". So the question was directed to you and not Toph. Besides that, you don't have to be "a fan" to comment or critique what they are doing. Your reply is just adding to my observation of that for some it is easier to criticize the messenger then criticize what the band is or isn't doing.
