And DDY had recorded Babe using a regular piano vs. the Fender Rhodes.

1. Would it make it more palatable for those of you that hate it?

2. Does it make Babe more like other acoustic piano driven Styx ballads like Lady, CSA, Best of Times and therefore more acceptable?

3. Or...Would it still have been as big of a hit record? Did the Fender Rhodes contribute to its success?

I love fender rhodes.So I would probably prefer it stays that way.That said, I would not mind hearing it with a regular piano.
Babe is a fine song,but as a Styx song ,not so much.

Sometimes I prefer the Fender Rhodes to piano sometimes it works better the other way around, but in Babe's case it was the correct choice.

Interesting. I'm not sure. I would have liked to have heard it with the piano. But they also used a Fender on First Time too... Was the style in late 1979 early 1980.
