City of the Angels

Postby JourneyHard » Tue Mar 27, 2018 11:32 am

I was listening to radio in my car the other day and they played Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'. I expected them to play some other song next, but they continued with City of the Angels. This is the way they used to do it back in the late 1970's and early 1980's. But they stopped doing it for decades, and now they did it again! This was wonderful.

Now, Journey needs to take a tip and play City of the Angels in concert after LTS. The older fans would go wild. Journey needs to have fun at their concerts.

We were at my sister's house and turned onto her road and LTS was ending.
Getting ready to turn the car off ... City of the Angels ... starting playing.
We were like

98.5 WNCX which is a Classic Rock station in Cleveland, will quite often play "City Of The Angels" right after LTS.

Underrated song. Wish the band would play at it. But at this point, Arnel probably can't pull it off. Or they would give it to Travis and it would sound like garbage.

Our classic rock station that sadly slowly stopped playing new material in the mid late 90s (They did actually play Higher Place, but only when they had Double Shot Tuesdays.) That stopped too.

But back in the 80's when they had it they always played LTS/COTA. Bet the Djs loved it back then as it must be 10 minutes of downtime.

Thankfully they still play Anytime/Feelin' that way. Always love it, its like 8 minutes of Journey.

Journey is in Good Company,

Boston, Elton John, Queen, The BEatles, Led Zeppelin, Jackson Browne (must be others as well) that always get played back to back. Any others?

Oh, by the way. You are now banned from ever going to Cedar Point as punishment for your anti-Ohio joke.

With my luck, Steve Perry will do a very limited tour with the only date in the mid-west in Toledo, and I am NOT allowed to go!

Classic Rewind on SiriusXM has been doing this too. They play Feeling That Way and Anytime together as well.

Speaking of this, Good Morning Girl/Stay Awhile was a "hit" reaching 55 on the charts.
I have never heard this song on the radio and wonder if a "single" exists.
Of course never heard WLAL either on radio, but have heard Precious Time multiple times.

Pretty Amazing that this LP is 3X platinum with only 1 real signature song.

I guess it did have singles record with "line of fire" being the bside
