Yes, the courts ruled on this last year and ORDERED the administration to reunite families and release those who had been detained for more than 20 days, or whatever that max is. But, Trump did NOT do it willingly.

He did not end a previous policy. He expanded on it and thought of it as a "deterrent". It was well publicized prior to the previous crisis. It only stopped because he was ORDERED to stop. You buying into Trump propaganda.

What we are doing in those detention centers right now ins a violation of our countries values and sense of morality.

IMO, all of these people should be granted citizenship and be given a $100,000 grant to be used for the purchase of a home, or education. This country has SEVERELY wrong them...and it is NOT how this country should treat other humans beings.

Legit asylum seekers should be welcome here. Lumping everyone - cartel and smugglers alike - as a "humanitarian crisis" is such naive and pollyanna-ish bullshit. The alternative to indefinite detention is releasing migrants on bond and the majority will never be seen again. That's not the solution. At least Trump is trying to address the problem.
