Africa : Socially Distanced Version

Joe's clearly having fun. I wonder who's on keys and bass. Some speculate it's Joe.

Joe made this comment on YouTube:

Paich fell ill once again and could not contribute .. its me playing everything except for Lenny's percussion and Lukes acoustic guitar. It's an "in house COVID" kinda thing!

That rocked. Luke and Joseph need to play together. I don't care if it's called Toto or something else. Still tons of great music and performances in them.

We should be talking about this. I seriously worry if Paich is going to be around much longer :(

Joseph Williams has contributed to Lukather's upcoming solo album and vice versa. Paich appears to have played on Lukather's record too. Seems like Steve Porcaro is pretty much out of the loop though. Apparently he hasn't spoken with Lukather in over half a year and he did not contribute to the Africa re-recording.

Luke/Joe/Steve P. should just tour as Lukather's TOTO and keep going.

Yes, he's doing well. Just not going to tour anymore, rather relax and enjoy life a little more.

Hard to see a future for TOTO without some sort of Porcaro involved. Sad.

Shame that he has left the band. From his recent interviews it seems he got tired of the road and would rather do his own thing in his studio. It does seem as though the band really stepped up the touring amount from 2015 onward, going from short four-week summer stints to going out several times a year. It obviously took its toll on Paich and seemingly Steve Porcaro too. As far as I'm concerned without a Porcaro or Paich onstage it really isn't Toto (which I understand was one of the main reasons Lukather decided to call it quits in 2008). Steve Porcaro recently suggested "Steve Lukather's Toto" though, so maybe we'll see that as a future incarnation?

No David Paich, no Toto.

If it's just Luke and Joe, please call it something else. I'd be fine with "Luke and Joe from Toto" or something like that. Luke and Joe actually flows together nicely as a band name.
