According to Neal, they now have around ten tracks.

I can't see any way that they have a full length album out by late July unless they are only going to have it through digital downloads?

I would hope that they eventually have it released on CDs!

Nobody said a full album in July. Neal said a single.

Well, the title of the thread says they were to having something out "by July". It looks like they couldn't even get one song out by July.

Thought I read Schon was hopeful to get a single out by the end of July and that they were up to 10 new song considerations for a new album?

They should release a video on youtube of the new single with the band performing separate or whatever. They have plenty of time to release the whole album by next year.

I'm hoping they stick with that timeline, I really want to hear what "sounds like Journey but with a new strut" really sounds like. I'm excited at the prospect of finally getting new music and i don't want to wait forever for it.

You mean another creepy as fuck Neal and Michaele soft-core porn music video? I'll pass on that, just give me the new music.

Just a few months ago, you claimed that new Journey music was unlikely - and even compared the prospect of a new record to a Steve Perry concert ticket. Now, with new music confirmed and well-underway, you are harping about the band missing deadlines - which were never set in stone to begin with.

Your bitching reeks of complete and total desperation.

I just made a simple statement of fact. The title of this thread says there would be new Journey music by July. There was none...not even a single song. If anything, this fact aligns with those statements you said I made, not contradicting them.

I am not the one lashing out in desperation, you are.

According to the most recent Neal interview, single is in the mixing stage and they are tentatively aiming for the end of July. This news is out there and available. Prior to covid, the plan was to release something even earlier to coincide with The Pretenders tour. The fact that Schon/Narada/Cain are spending more time on new music is a good thing.

We are only four days into July.

Monker wrote: If anything, this fact aligns with those statements you said I made, not contradicting them.

You said there would never be another Journey album. Short of some court ordered Ross Valory injunction, that is looking more and more unlikely.
Instead of trying to hold Neal accountable for keeping fans informed, hold yourself accountable for a change.

These are my are arguments

Journey will never get another deal like the Walmart deal, or be on a label like Sony ever again.

Journey's future is now in the courts. Ross could win his lawsuit, Nightmare could own the Journey name and they could remake Journey however they want. Nightmare or Ross could file to stop Journey from touring or releasing an album. ...But, NOBODY KNOWS how the courts will react. Neal's actions put the future of Journey to be decided by the courts.

I also argued that if this new version of Journey releases an album that it will be even less successful than Eclipse.

And, the title of this thread says there would be new Journey by July, and it is July and there is still no new music, not even ONE SONG.

I have NEVER said this version of Journey would never release new music. YOU do not know what you are talking about.

Bands and artists miss deadlines for releasing new material all of the time. Big deal. No one cares about that. It doesn't mean new stuff isn't coming or isn't being worked on. It's a move to the positive, putting behind a lot of negative.

1) The Walmart exclusive deals were terminated a long time ago. So this argument is moot. It's like saying that Journey will never get another Frontiers-style arcade game.
2) If Sony could patch things up with TOTO, why not Journey?

Monker wrote:I also argued that if this new version of Journey releases an album that it will be even less successful than Eclipse.

3) Many Journey albums (Red 13, Generations) have been less successful than Eclipse. Who the hell cares?

I don't need you to explain the title or the thread to me. I posted it! The single is in the mixing stage - with many more album tracks in the demo stage.

Monker wrote:I have NEVER said this version of Journey would never release new music. YOU do not know what you are talking about.

Ah, but you repeatedly said "this is not Journey." How can there be no Journey and new Journey music at the same time? Obviously, your negativity is forcing you to invent unanswerable Schrodinger cat-type scenarios. Better to just admit that Journey is back on track.

Yes. The title of this thread says July, but it doesn't say what year.

I know there will be a single out soon before the month of July is over. That counts as new music.

You do what you always do, take things completely out of context. Some of those are literally from YEARS ago. Others are taken out of context. All of them are about releasing a new album not just 'new music'. None of them were said after the new lineup was announced.

You do what you always do when caught red-handed lying your ass off, you play word games; pretending as if there is a substantive difference between discussing t"new music" vs. a "new album."

You claimed "I never said anything like that." Now you are attempting to add all sorts of BS hair-splitting conditions on that denial.

Even ignoring the fact that one of the comments (which you said didn't exist) is as recent as April 2020, why are older quotes off-limits?
Are you trying to hide the fact that you have been full of shit since time immemorial?
