Interesting!

The Morse code translation is;

"THE NEW WORLD, WITH ALL ITS POWER AND MIGHT STEPS FORTH TO THE RESCUE AND LIBERATION OF THE OLD..." WINSTON CHURCHILL

Oh.. and I found this;

Pomp rockers Styx will return to a more classic sound on their 17th studio album, Crash Of The Crown, when it’s released in June via Eagle Rock Records. Preorders commence on May 7, when those who purchase will be offered a download of the lead track, featuring three lead vocal parts for the first time in the band’s history. The 15-track concept record includes songs entitled From The Fight Of Our Lives, A Monster, Hold Back The Darkness, Coming Out The Otherside and Another Farewell. The artwork shows the planet Earth at the centre of a crater, visualising the record’s name and hinting at the scale of the storyline.

I wonder if there are any album connections or it's just due to other reasons...

Don Felder, Collective Soul and Peter Frampton and Foreigner have all posted on their social media

"This website showed up in our inbox today. Wonder what it is and who it's from? Any ideas? Crash of the Crown | Crash of the Crown. crashofthecrown.com"

Good marketing plan. I checked some of those artists pages and their fans are all wondering what it is. :lol:

Regarding the musical direction of the new STYX material, Todd said: "I can say the music on this upcoming record is absolutely killer. There are a couple of songs which are lyrically prophetic. There is a song called 'Sound The Alarm', and when I first heard it, I stopped playing and damn near burst into tears because the lyrics were so in tune with what is happening now. It sounds like they were written today. "To fans of the band, I think this will stand as one of the greatest STYX records of all time."

:lol: Styx wont make that mistake. DDY’s samples disappeared the next day. Sloppy promotion. That what happens when you use your cousin Vinny, who also sells used cars, to be your promoter. Well, maybe not that bad but but DDY and the music of Styx is most likely a family run business.

I hope it sounds more like Styx and not Styx trying to sound like Yes, or ELP, Queen, Pink Floyd etc like they have in the last two albums. Not bad albums, but although Styx was never that musically original, at least they had their own sound. Why try to imitate other bands now?

ChicagoStyx why are you always critical? Taking shots for no reason.
If Dennis has a family run business which it isn’t, it was Tommy and JY who put him in that position. Not Robots or ballads but power and greed with non relevant references from 38 years ago.

The William Morris Agency and Liverpool productions are in charge of his business. Frontiers records made the sound clip decision without consultation.
Dennis has built a touring business that competes with them and challenges them constantly which results in them trying to upstage all his announcements and releases that some claim are coincidences. Coincidences? Hysterical.

Their new artwork looks like bagel ashes with blueberry filling. Carrots were on strike!
Here’s hoping this concept album has one.

I do enjoy your posts Suite. When I mentioned the family business I was referring to his wife singing backup, his son running the lights and his niece running his Facebook page which I believe has now been turned over to another family member. I’m sure there are more. There is nothing wrong with that. I’m sure it helps to save a few $. But sometimes you need to leave things to the professionals. The cover for the new Styx album was originally going to be a ripoff of Abby Road but they decided to do something original instead and show some creativity. :wink: Cant wait to get your opinion on the new song when it’s released later this week. Based on what I’m hearing about this album, you’re gonna hate it and I’m gonna love it. Same as the last one.

No matter what side you align with in the Styx saga, this is going to be a great time for all Styx fans. We have never had so much new Styx/DDY music in such a short time before and never will again. This is going to be fun! BTW, I like blueberries and carrots, and I’m interested in space travel.

Record store day is not set by the band and they have been saying they will release the new album when they can tour again. The tour starts June 16th. Are you suggesting they don’t release the album to coincide with the tour just to please DDY?

Carrots and blueberries are very healthy. What about bagel ashes?
Since you’re a fan did you learn about space travel from The Mission?

I didn’t hate The Mission please don’t put words in my mouth. I was challenged to review it on this site when I initially remained silent and you know it, I don’t go looking for trouble. I said it was a concept album without one as far as I could see and that it was woefully short on rock songs, which has been their criticism of Dennis continually for over 20 years. “We just wanna rock”. Who stopped them.

The Mission videos seemed cheap and did nothing to further the concept. The Mission album cover was good and better than Cyclorama and I would include this new one if in fact that picture is the cover. I also said it was more Styx sounding than Cyclorama.

One mans ripoff is another’s tribute and you know the difference.
How about Tommy and his band crossing Abbey Road with Crowns on their heads walking in the opposite direction. Crowns are popular in England.

When you communicate with Todd ask him if they’re concerned with all the coincidences. :wink:

We should have a new single in a few hours. I have heard nothing about the title of the song but only that it will have 3 lead vocal parts.

Looks like as with The Mission there will be a limited edition clear vinyl according to my Google searches (I'm finding results, but the links currently go to blank pages - as the web stores are likely hiding the pages until the official announcement and pre-orders start)

I've got a feeling these guys have the release date wrong. June seems to be the expected release month (says in Prog Magazine issue 119)

Had to dig up a cached version, I'm assuming they went live with it a little early as the link doesn't work now but they had the full track listing... and a few sites seem to be matching a release date of June 25th.

Anyone want spoilers on the track listing? :P
