Is there anybody out there ?

Postby classicstyxfan » Fri Jan 09, 2004 9:22 am

This is as dead as I've ever seen this board.....granted not much is going on with the boys, past or present right now.

Dennis has 2 shows in the next 3 days, is anybody going to either one ? I might make it to the Rockford show if the Weather cooperates...if I do, I'll review it here shortly thereafter.

What does anyone think about the rumors of a Styx/Night Ranger/ Damn Yankees tour next summer ?

Yes the board is extremely quiet.

It's a really busy time for me right now. As for Rockford or Appleton, well no plans for me. I will be content to see DDY in Rosemont in February. I noticed tickets are no longer for sale for Rockford so hopefully that's a good thing.

As for the rumor regarding the summer tour, well I think it's a heck of a lineup, but in all honesty, at any given time, I think several of the people on the stage are gonna be pretty tired pulling double duty. And I'm guessing it would be a little expensive as well.

Just my thoughts. :)

I'm here 8) I check the board everyday to see if any of our favorite people checked in.

I might still go to the Appleton show at the last minute. I live just a little closer to the Rockford show. Who knows

I'm looking forward to the Rosemont show next month.

As for the rumor of Styx/Night Ranger/Ted Nugent/Damn Yankees/Shaw&Blades, etc. I would love to see Night Ranger and I enjoyed the Damn Yankees concert years ago. I agree with Sadie, I think the tickets would be very expensive.

Classic, if you go, I hope you have a great time. I can't wait to hear "Castle Walls" again and "Suite Madame Blue" and "Hello God" and "Come Sail Away" and...... I just can't wait for the next concert

Yogi's here!!! I wish ALL of you out there a HAPPY NEW YEAR. As for the board being dead...... Well... it is at this point in time. We all have our opinions on different matters and NONE of us are going to change the others. Anyway, in case you have missed this, Troy over at Styxcollector.com is selling his entire Styx collection. He has some VERY rare stuff. If you have any extra cash there are some Styx items you may NEVER see for sale again. You want to get them before he puts em up for auction on E-bay. Also his prices are very good. As for the Styx/ Night Ranger/ Ted Nugent/ Damn Yankees summer tour I think that would be awesome!! I have seen Night Ranger twice, and they were GREAT. As for the prices I dont see it costing any more than last summers Main Event Tour. Styx has ALWAYS been a reasonable concert price. I dont see that changing at all.

Happy New Year to All

The board is quiet - which considering a lot of the foolishness last year may be a bad thing (Shooz). I've been on the road a lot - I know this is way off the subject - but got a chance to see Winton Marsalis perform in Valencia Spain a couple of months back. I was staying at the same Hotel - long story short - saw the show for free and afterwards met him and the rest of the band. Very memorable for this former Music Performance major!!
As for the tour - If the boys keep their sets at about an hour or so - and space the dates out - it could be physically possible. The tickets would be EXPENSIVE - but - this would be a once in a lifetime - so I'd have to go. Dare I say it - it would have a chance to succeed as one of the top grossing tours of the year. Now the top - but it would be nice to see some AOR names on the top tours list. Tired of seeing the Who, Rolling Stones, etc....

I didnt find this site until May.......I suppose with Cyclorama being released about this time last year, there was much to talk about....
It would be nice to have more Studio music from both camps in 2004 to spark some discussion. I am however, not holding my breath until it happens.

Classic,

I haven't even been to this sight in three weeks (I'm still reeling from the "JACKASS" comment when referring to Shooz)!

In reality, the only time this board will be hoppin' is when a new release comes out, otherwise it's simply Same Shit Different Day.

And to think, I thought we were buds, oh well.

GO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!

Scott

P.S. I really do like Yogi AND froy.

Scott, I'd forgotten about that......

Way to go Panthers ! I was in your camp all week after my Packers imploded on themselves a week ago. Lucky for you "we
softened them up for you ...." ( the only straw left for me to grasp )

Although I don't expect the media won't give the Panthers much of a chance, I do believe it will be a close game, where 1 or 2 plays
make all the difference.....and I will again be cheering on the Panthers....( and rooting for some new creative commercials too....)

I'll be rooting for the Panthers too since the Packers lost (wiping tears). If the Packers had beaten the Eagles, they could've easily won the Super Bowl title (what if.......blah, blah, blah) Oh well, there's always next year :)

Anyway, I'm sure there will be most posts coming up soon. Dennis has his new Double Live CD with 3 new songs. His Soundstage DVD. He has a nice tour coming up this year. The new line-up of Styx (Carrot Styx) will probably release "Styx Rockers - Part 2" more rockin' songs without Dennis on lead vocals - JUST KIDDING. Their tour will start soon and they'll be on the road all year. I'm curious to see who they'll be touring with. On other boards there's been talk about Ted Nugent/Night Ranger and then I heard Peter Frampton, all these rumors, so who knows

I still drop in from time to time and it is always as if I have never been away.

This is like Thanksgiving at a Jerry Springer family house. I don't want to go but end up dropping by anyway hoping for the best but in the end see that everybody is still the same.

At least it is good to know that we are all still alive and well and doing fine in our own little worlds outside of Styx (I hope at least)

Bring on the Tommy Shaw and Friends tour, that would be a great evening of music, fun and entertainment. I know I will catch a handful of those shows.

Sounds too good to be true! I'd probably even pay an unreasonable amount of money for this show, simply because DY was one of my biggest musical obsessions back in the day. My only complaint is that it was so short-lived. I've seen Night Ranger three times since '97 and haven't been disappointed. Gillis and Watson are unconscious live! I only wish they'd play a few more tracks from Neverland and Seven, instead of relying so heavily on tried and true stuff (sound familiar, Styx fans?). As far as the Nuge (who I understood would be part of the tour, also), I wasn't a big fan until post-DY, but I caught him in KC a couple of years ago and was blown away. I now understand what I've heard for years about his live shows, the studio albums just don't do him justice! Anyway, if this tour happens, I can't wait!
