Touring for what ?
There's no new cd ,
What other reason other than a pay check are they touring for?
And don't even start with the for the fans bs and they have a right to bs
They will just keep burning the Styx name till there are no more takers.
Hopefully that is soon,

Froy, You MUST be that guy who loses a bet and then SHOUTS... We NEVER shook, We NEVER shook..... No bet, No Bet, NA NA NA NA NA NAH!!!!! Gotta be you!! Speaking of bets I'll bet you right now Cyclorama has sold at LEAST 4 times the number you are trying to throw out there as factual. As for the DDY's recent 2 CD set it will be luckey if it EVER sells 10,000 units. Hell, it takes Yoko months to get em shipped. How about starting your vow of silence.................... NOW!!!!

Gotta tell you Yogi, if Styx has sold 4 times the number that Froy stated, that's still only 60,000 units. Not a lot when you figure by your own words they are playing to thousands and thousands of people at their shows, and that the cd has been out for nearly a full year. As for DDY, well all I can tell you is he's sold out those cd's at every one of the concerts I've been to in the last 4 months. Given average seating at about 4000 for each of his shows, then it's probably a good guess that he's sold at least 10K so far. I've not heard anyone complaining lately about delivery, so that comment has no merit.

I just think it's kinda funny that Styx is doing a few shows with Blue Oyster Cult. Nothing against them, but talk about dinosaur bands...hey whatever. Hopefully those that go will have a good time.

I saw Blue Oyster Cult on DirectTV Preview a few months back.
and before I comment further let me go on record saying they did about 4-6 songs in their heyday that I think were great.

That said, I thought they were a sad parody of what they once were, at least in the live performance that was presented. It was terrible ! I had to go put in my BOC Greatest Hits CD just to try and erase that memory.

I hope Styx hangs it up for good before they get to that point. They are truly "dredging the river" by touring with them IMO.

Sadie, Froy is throwing out the number 15,000 like it is a fact. When it is TOTALLY false. I believe the number FARRRRR exceeds 60,000 units sold. Remember, when Andrew posted the numbers of Cyclorama here months ago, those numbers were well over 15,000 then, and those numbers did NOT include CD's sold at concerts, and CD's sold over the internet.(Amazon.com etc...). I cant remember those numbers what were they?? It was something like 43,000. My guess is they have sold thousands at concerts, and there GREATEST sales are over the internet. Cyclorama was a pretty hot sale with Amazon. com for its first few months after release. It's rank was 200 or below those first few months. These are facts. I will give you another fact. When I saw Dennis in Houston almost two years ago at The Woodlands the only thing he brought to sell was his Hunchback CD. There was 1 booth open and the two workers that stayed were pissed because all he brought were 4 dozen copies and NOTHING else T-shirts etc.. How many copies is he bringing to sell at his shows??? I know Styx brings hundreds of copies, some autographed others not. In regards to the DDY CD, it took literally months after I ordered Dennis's CD for it to arrive at my home. I was NOT the only one this happened to. Lastly, back in 2001 when Styx headlined their tour with Bad Company, when I saw them in San Antonio, Survivor opened and played for around 30 minutes, Blue Oyster Cult followed Survivor and also played around a 30 minute set, Billy Squire then played for around an hour, Bad Company then played for a little over an hour, and Styx finished with a 90 minute set. The year before that I saw Styx with REO(Arch Allies) in Houston.Survivor opened and played for around 30 minutes again, BTO, and Eddie Money followed, and also played for around 30 minutes. My point is, if they do play with Blue Oyster Cult ( which they already have ), Blue Oyster Cult's set will be a short one, and look for other bands to be added to those shows.

I replied to your words Yogi...4 times the number Froy was saying. I don't claim to know the number Cyclorama has sold. Never did. I did a comparison based on your statement. Get a grip dude. I also said, RECENTLY no one has complained about delivery for DDY's new cd. As for what he brings to his concerts now, there's a t-shirt, the double live cd, the Hnchback cd, Soundstage dvd, and his wife's book. And they were all selling very very well at every concert I've attended. However many number of copies either group has sold is not known. I was just trying to put some perspective to things. You always seem to need to defend your words and feel a need to slam those around you when they make differing statements. It's old and boring and makes you look really really juvenile. but maybe that's what you're after. Cuz trust me, it's not funny. Not by a longshot.

Sadie, #1 on my last post to you there was NEVER a point where I was trying to be funny. I was presenting FACTS. You Type 1's throw #'s around to benefit YOUR argument, and your pulling the numbers out of thin air, and presenting them as factual, to make some lameass fictitious argument. Why dont you give me some FACTS, REAL facts. Why not start out with some REAL numbers regarding attendance at DDY's recent concerts. Hell, thats a start. You Yokoites crack me up! Remember your choice of venue argument . You all were sure ripping on Styx with their venue choices, until Dennis decided to venture out of the batcave and get back in the game. Damn if he isnt playing those same venues. You all need to lighten up Type 1's. It's really going to be funny when Dennis gets on a venue with Billy Joe or someone like that. What will you say then?? You all need to get out of his bath water!!!!!!! Who made that quote??????

And again Yogi, you prove my point. Resorting to name calling and using comparisons that don't apply. But then I doubt you'd get that. Yes, Dennis did the same venues...what you don't seem to get is that the complaint many fans had was that Styx played venues that they never should have. There is something called name recognition. Styx has that, Dennis does not. So since he has to rebuild his career, he played those same venues that a band with a name recognition (Styx) has, you seem pretty ready to turn that around on him. That's your prerogative. I am so tired of reading your words and the petty resorting to name calling. It only makes you look bad. Funny how I don't see you using names like "Yoko" in reference to any other band member's spouse...or fan for that matter. You have a serious need to label people..."type 1's" "yokoites", etc. If you think that isn't insulting and juvenile, then I don't know what else to tell you. "man hands"???? I don't even know what that means, but hey, it must be okay right? WRONG!

Bathwater drinkers. Yes, Dennis made that reference. Several years ago, during a nasty split. Gee, it been nearly five years ago already. Find me something recent you can attribute the man as saying that's negative about the band and it's fans. You material is old Yogi.

I have no longer got the patience to deal with you and your lame attempts at humor or "fact" based statements. Carry on all by yourself.

Sadie, let me explain to you and the other Type1ers what my references mean.
Man Hands- My name for suitemadamblue- it came about when Froy said he would take a vow of silence ala Kramer on Seinfield. There was another episode when Jerry dated this TOTAL knockout the only problem with her was her HUGE meat hooks. Thats where the name Man Hands comes from. Hell, I am calling Suitemadamblue a TOTAL knockout without EVER having met her. Its a compliment, plus suitemanhandsblue kind of sounds cool dont you think?? I even gave myself the nickname Norm.. but it didnt stick.
Yoko- this is my reference to Dennis's lovely wife Jerry..opps I was thinking of my lunch coming from Subway. I mean Dennis lovely wife Suzanne. Yoko was the wife of John Lennon. She had a tremendous impact on his career just the same as DDY's wife. Why you find this insulting I will NEVER know for sure. Maybe you Type 1's are just prejudiced against women from the orient.
EasyBake Oven Wife- My name plus many others I have used when describing the youthful Mrs Tommy Shaw. She must be pumped right now that this isnt a school night!!!
Type1's- My name for those of you who claim to be fans of the GREAT band Styx, but in actual truth you ONLY LOVE and WORSHIP individual members. You were probably NEVER involved in any TEAM type sports or TEAM type activities growing up. It's a shame you had to take your ball and go home all those times. 'Why wont the kids just play nice, like I want them too'. Those thoughts flowed like water through your brain as a youth
Assembly Line- The name I give for ?????? what the hell is that I never quite figured that jargon out.
I hope the above has cleared up some of my lingo and befiefs for you Type1's. Finally the bathwater comment the Dennis berated Tommy with years ago. I realize it was looong ago. Man Hands, I am still waiting to hear the aweful things the current members said about Dennis in the 2003 article you spoke about... You also said there were other recent articles. Where are they??? SLANT ON TYPE 1's........................................

How utterly arrogant of you to decide that those fans who continue to like one group over the other were never true fans. It must be virtually impossible for you to get that people can be fans of line up and not another. It does NOT ever make them any less a fan. PERIOD. I happen to love the work that the men known as Classic Styx did. I always will.

As for the Yoko label and your statement about her influence over John Lennon...yeah right...that's what most people would gather from that. Certainly not that Yoko is more often than not labelled as the one who caused the split between the Beatles. Whatever.

No I don't think SuiteMadameBlueManHands sounds at all funny, but to each his own. I think it's not cute to give someone a nickname that you haven't met. And calling someone a knockout to CYA yourself and your lame nicknames is just that...LAME.

As for whether I played team sports, yep I did. And nope, I was never the kind to whine and pick up my bat and ball and head home cuz I didn't get my way. Perhaps you use that analogy so much because that's your course of action.

Sheesh, I'm gone for a few hours and I miss all this!!!

Way to go Sadie, again I agree with everything you said

Yogi says:

Yogi, once again you don't what you're talking about. I too happen to love the work that the men did as Classic Styx and I always will. BTW: I was on many team sports growing up, grade school, high school, college and I continue to be on teams as well as coach. I never once gave up or "took my ball home all those times".

Yogi, you're name calling is getting old. I'm on other boards and I have never read where someone is calling names as much as you do, very childlike. I have a feeling we're dealing with teenager here, just by reading your posts Yogi.

Again, as I said with an earlier post. I don't mind going to a smaller venue to see anyone perform. I like to bring my camera and take pictures. When bands were selling out at arenas, it was hard to get close (if you didn't have great seats) and see the band. I have 2nd row tickets for Dream Theater next month and they're playing at a VERY small venue - which I like. I saw Styx at an arena years and years ago, couldn't get good tickets, sat way back. Then I saw them again for the RTP tour, smaller venue, closer seats, great show. I saw Loverboy at the zoo, which some of you made fun of. I made it to the front, there was about 4,000 people - great show, fun time. I talked with the band after and they said it was great!!!

Yogi - whatever....

I would love to see the new DVD but once bitten!!!!!!!!!!

You Guys have (pardon the pun) way too much time on your hands. I enjoy Styx and think it would be great to see them with BOC (that was what this thread was about) . As for them being dinasuars I believe they are from the same era as Styx. Any more input about this line up would be great.

Damn Y'all,

Do you EVER leave this site. Nearly 20 posts in about as many hours has got to be some sort of record! So much for the board being dead. Well it makes for some pretty interesting, if not entertaining reading though. Maybe I ought to drop in more often that once a week.

Have a great weekend everyone.

I've had some real down time at work the past few days. I'm a high school typing, and english teacher at a real small school in Texas. Our entire school visited San Antonio for a business class yesterday. They are attempting to see first hand how a business should be run. They tried to visit Body Solutions, and damn if it hadnt folded. The found Yoko's name on a bunch of the invoices, at the now defunct company. I hope she is in on the lawsuit. At my suggestion I then had them try to contact the Deyoungs. Yokodelivery is about to take off, I am very confident of that. Ask our friend in England!!!!REMEMBER: NO CHILD GETS LEFT BEHIND!!!!
