I dont think JY needs to move on so to speak. He was asked a series of questions in an interview. Many of the questions had to do with Dennis,1999, and the breakup of the BIG THREE so to speak.I LOVE the fact he has the balls to answer the questions truthfully as he saw the situation. I would much rather have him or ANYONE for that matter to answer the questions if they are legit questions, then duck the questions. I dont not think he slammed Dennis at all. He gave what he felt was an honest answer( in his mind as he saw it ) to a group of questions that were asked of him. To me thats MUCH better than saying I dont want to answer that question(politicians).

I really wish when Dennis, Chuck, Todd, Tommy, Glen are interviewed and are asked the questions Styx fans most want to hear about(which is the breakup of the group) they would answer the exact same way JY has. Which is the Truth as THEY see it.

Hell over 70% what is talked about here is about the breakup, who is right who is wrong, Equinox Dennis vs Kilroy Dennis vs Hunchback Dennis,How bad the'NEW' Styx sucks or how GREAT they are, playing in barnyards etc.. The Journey board was dissolved because of these heated discussions. It's GREAT JY has the nuts to address these issues and not opt out of discussing it. If the others were to talk, and speak their honest opinions who knows that might be what brings the BIG THREE back together.

Well, they kinda sorta DID that already. It was called "Styx: Behind the Music." JY said in this interview it was 98% correct.

Each one got to tell a [VERY edited] story from his perspective.

Supposedly this program was where Dennis learned how much his former bandmates really hated him.

It was also the program where all of Dennis' defenders were cut out except his wife. SuiteMB alluded to his on another thread.

I think most viewers took away from this program, and what each member said, their own interpretation of events.

To me, despite the program's attempt to paint him as a controlling, nutcase, Dennis came off as reasonable and intelligent and quite calm, willing to concede two points --- everyone made the band what it was and every band needs leadership, which he felt he provided.

Actually if you read some older interviews with glen burtnik, he was quite brutal on dennis. He went as far as to say that dennis and his lawyer cost the band millions of dollars due to their greed. He often went at it with Dennis fans on his own web site. But he had the class to come out recently on his own web site and basically say he was through trashing people that he use to play with. It doesn't take guts to go into an interview when the other guy is not there to defend himself and trash him. It's actually very cowardly. Being brutally honest isn't always the best route, after all which one of you guys out there is going to tell your wife, "hey hon, it's not the dress that makes you look fat, it's those big hips of yours." There is nothing wrong with the way Tommy has fielded these type of questions, by saying, he has to much respect for Dennis (at least professionally speaking) to dis him. Burger King found out during the 70's and 80's that blasting McDonalds in their commercials back fired on them, sales actually went down for them and up for McDonalds. If people feel somebody is really getting beat up, human nature will step in and try to defend this person. Somebody in that camp over there, needs to tell the reluctant one to ease up a little.

We can say that it's a great interview, the dude asked a lot of questions, if not bold ones. JY has a right to be angry, have an opinion and speak whatever he wants, but it's not going to change anyone's mind for the most part. Just like you basically said, it looks bad and will cause bad ripples.
Listening to JY over the past few years, you would think that Dennis basically did nothing good for this band, if not totally f!@#ed it up. I will say it again as I listen to JY. It's amazing that he was able to stay and put up with all of this for so many years! Even though we know why, you'd wonder why HE didn't quit/leave.
Even though we all know why he stayed, if you believe every word he says, you must wonder how he was able to do it.
I can't remember with so many interviews. Does anyone know if JY has ever point blank been asked why he stayed/rejoined/never left if it was really as bad regarding Dennis as he says now in every interview. This is obviously the one thing that always come to my mind whenever he is trashing Dennis, and that's what he is doing any way you slice it. Just because someone gives a good interview and has an allowed opinion, doesn't mean they aren't trashing someone. Even if all of it is true. Why? What REALLY is the point. What does JY really want. The final HA!, the final word?
JY is becoming so much of not the reasons I was drawn to Styx. A lot of the die hard Styx fans on certain sites are becoming about as mean as JY. Styx to me represented something completely different. Negativity is never what it was about and everyone wants to say that it's about the music, not the politics. Well, how can we try to do that when one of the current members continues to spew off about the politics and inner circle? Styx is supposed to make us feel good. Not that anyone is, but let's not become as angry about all of this as JY is! Peace!

I do agree that if JY wants the current version of the band to be successful, then he just needs to move on and let the music stand for itself. Time will tell the quality and place of the music within rock and roll.
