Postby spaceace02038 » Sun May 30, 2004 4:48 am

details are still coming in but it seems derek frigo has died!!!!!!!!

About an hour and a half ago I receieved a call from a friend in AA who told me that Derek Frigo (former guitarist of Enuff Z'Nuff) had died earlier this evening.
I then spoke with Vik Foxx who had confirmed the news.

After a few phone calls, others did confirm the facts about this. A few girls had seen Derek at the nearest cross streets near his girlfriend's home in Beverly Hills this afternoon. I was told that Derek was found outside of his girlfriend's home laying on the sidewalk with his cell phone dialing 911 repeatitively.

Derek man....you were always the best of the best in the guitar world. It's so sad to think that we will never see your face, hear you incredible sense of humor, or hear your killer tones ever again.

This page is for you buddy.

Everyone, please feel free and post your thoughts, photos, and good memories of Derek here.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Derek's family. We are terribly sorry for your loss.

I love you brother....and, I'll miss you tons.

This what I typed in my most recent email news letter.....

"I just got off the phone with Vik Foxx and I'm sorry to announce that our dear 'ol friend DEREK FRIGO had passed away last night.
DEREK FRIGO was known as the Lead Guitarist of such bands as ENUFF Z'NUFF, LOGANS HEROS, TEXAS TERRI and Le MANS.
DEREK Rest In Peace Buddy...........We will all miss you terribly.

Further on in the news letter....

Another dear friend is gone, but will never be forgotten. I remember the first time I heard "In The Groove" by ENUFF Z'NUFF.
Derek's solo on that song blew me away beginning to end ! I've lost many friends over the past couple of years, and this loss is not any easier than the rest.

2 weeks ago I celebrated 15 years clean & sober. I have to admit that when partying was still an enjoyable part of my life, before it got out of controll for myself, some of the best times were partyin' with Derek and the guys back in Chicago.....back in the day. The last time I saw Derek was many months ago when I booked an ENUFF Z'NUFF reunion of sorts at The Cat Club for a special appearance. Derek looked better than he had ever looked in his life, and played better than ever ! I haven't really spent as much time with him as I would have liked sinse then, but I would always get a "hello" & "give me a call" from him through mutual friends from time to time. ENUFF Z'NUFF was talking about getting an original lineup together for a trip to Japan in the future. Now, there will be no way to recap on what we loved about the first few ENUFF Z'NUFF recordings except listening to "ENUFF Z'NUFF", "STRENGTH" and "ANIMALS WITH HUMAN
INTELEGENCE" to hear Derek's amazing guitar work.

Derek, you were always an ace on guitar, and it was always a pleasure to perform with ya with The Haptones @ The Cat Club on Sunday nights. Thank you for comin' down and gettin' on that stage with me bro. It was always a treat hearin' your guitar playin'. You were one of of those exceptional people that could make me smile and laugh. Sometimes.....just by that funny "FRIGO" look you used to give. Those memories of hangin' out on Lake Shore Drive at your pad will stay with me forever man. Rest in peace, and tear it up playin' rock n roll with Ty Longley, Randy Castillo, Robin Crosby, John Entwhistle, and the rest of our pals that you now share that HUGE stage with. All of your friends and family will deeply miss ya buddy.
