WHAT'S GOING ON WITH..................

Postby yogi » Wed Aug 04, 2004 6:11 am

A while back some famous writer from Nashville was suppose to be doing a tell all, in depth book about Styx, and its members. If I remember correctly the book was suppose to have a September release date, or close to that. Andrew had something about it here, and a bunch of you seemed to know the writer, and about the book.

So what is going on with it??????? It's damn near September!! I was pretty fired up to hear about this book, but now I hear nothing.

The writer is Sterling Whitaker. Here is his website:

Here is a press release regarding the book:

I can personally tell you that most (if not all) members of Styx and their families past and present are not too happy about this book. A few previous managers, past road crew members and studio crews were interviewed for this book. I don't know if it can be released.

FYI, when you listen to Rockline with Dennis, Sterling (from Nashville) asks a question regarding Styx and the commercial success. It was a good question.

Yes, it was a good question. I can add that the book has had it's release date postponed twice that I know of, and is not being pushed by any major publishing company.

I think the book may not get released, but then I've been wrong before.

If you watched the VH1 Episode of "True Spin" about Mr. Roboto, Sterling Whitaker was one of the commentators as well.

I'll be bummed if he book never gets released.....it would be interesting to get opinions and stories from those closest to, but not in the band......

Lets hear stories from roadies who make up lies and have nothing but bitterness and contempt towards the band.
