What's the best styx lineup ever?

Postby Guest » Mon Aug 09, 2004 11:29 am

There have been so many!! i like all of them but which one does everyone think is the best.

If I can throw in my two scence I'd say it was Dennis Deyoung, glen Burtnik, James Young, and John and Chuck Ponozzo.

Lets hear some feedback!

#1 Line-up would be Dennis, Tommy, JY, Chuck, and John....Crystal Ball through Paradise Theatre.....

#2 Line-up would be Dennis, JC, JY, Chuck, and John......The Wooden Nickel Years plus Equinox....

The two best line-ups but of course you will never see these paticular line-ups ever again....

Wouldn't this be Crystal Ball through Kilroy?

Actually you are right...I just left off Kilroy because the other albums represent the band at its best musically.....

The Best live line-up was 2000-2003. They rocked harder and better than any other(Sorry DDY fans, they just rock more.

Although I never witnessed it, I was just informed that there was one performance with DeYoung, Shaw, Burtnik, Sucherman and JY. I would vote for that line-up!

As far as what I've seen and heard, I like the Cyclorama lineup - when Chuck Panozzo got on stage - it was 6 historic Stygians up there.

If you look to the entire Styx catalog, without a doubt it is the DDY, Tommy, JY, Chuck, and John Lineup. With that lineup they covered everything that was Styx - Ballads, acoustics, Rock.

I f you are looking to the line-up that rocks the hardest, then it is definitely the current line-up. Tommy, JY, Todd, Ricky, and Larry.

Unfortunately, The Classic line-up didn't rock hard enough for Tommy and JY and the current line-up isn't soft enough for Dennis.
