Some old classic 80s rock; Vices by Kick Axe.
Picked up their new cd, hasn't really grown on me yet.

Mercenary-11 Dreams

Sharpen the Edges, Supremecy V2.0 and World Hate Centre are just really great songs.....Balance of Power-Heathen Machine is still getting heavy rotation this week too.

Green Day- American idiot

More rock than punk, and the title track is really good.

Saxon - Lionheart. This is the first Saxon album I have bought in over 15 years... Shows how impressed I was by them at the concert last weekend. Great songs on the album, the band still sound like Saxon, even though the songs have become more modern. Good job.

Yes that was strange. Especially because they did sell all three Dream Evil CDs at the concert. Perhaps is was sold out. :?

Well look I'm only telling the truth - Biff is a tosser even just for using the name 'Biff' and Mac's voice is quite boring for a prog band.......I mean, how could anyone mount a successful argument against those rather salient points?

Isn't it very prog to have a singer who does not explore how high he can sing? ;) He still sings nice melodies...

Oh don't get me wrong.....I do like 'Subsurface'.......but I would have liked it more with a more proficient, and confident vocalist!

Say Jorn Lande? :D I agree that Mac isn't the best singer on the planet, but he is still okay though, his voice fits their music.

Oh well of course Jorn is the cream of the crop, isn't he?
But I don't think Mac's voice fits the music very well, and I don't really think the 'Extinct Instinct' singer fits that well either.......IMHO they have yet to find their singer.
I respect your opinion though......after all, he HAS had his arm around you!

Good album.

Saxon are not the band they once were, especially as there are 2 versions now! But 'Denim & Leather' is a Classic. And only Saxon could come up with an album title called 'Unleash the Beast'.

I must be getting soft in my old age, but I stick to Blackmore's Night's new one "Beyond The Sunset - The Romantic Collection". It was either this or Mayhem's "Pure Fucking Armageddon" and everyone who knows me, knows I don't really like Black Metal, so...

Besides he still kicks ass as a guitarist!!!

AOTW goes to Dakota "Deep 6." I received this in the mail as a free gift (thanks, Josette! :D ) and has been spinning in my stereo since. Really good keyboard-driven AOR with some to-die-for vocal hamonies!

My AOW is not technically an album. Its a compilation cd of Richie Kotzen's solo stuff between Motherhead's Family Reunion and Get Up.
Richie is one soulful motherfucker and one great guitarist.
Technically Get Up is my AOW though.

This sort of music is perfect for warmer weather and driving.

Of all the CDs that arrived with my order last week, not one stood out so much that I have played it more than once so far... The album that is definitely not going to be my AOTW is Millenium - Jericho. I was very disappointed with that one. :(

So, from the other CDs which are piled in front of the player Zakk Wylde - Book Of Shadows has had the most spins this week, so I'll stick with that one.

I'm gonna go with 'Seventh One' - Toto......I just love these guys, especially after watching the 25th anniversary DVD. The musicianship is awesome, and they really seem to enjoy playing music together.

Buck Cherry meets Black Crowes is good description of this band.
