SWITCHING TEAMS???

Postby yogi » Sat Oct 23, 2004 12:22 am

Watching the Astros/Cardinals game 7 last night I saw a commercial for what I am not even sure of, but it had this Cow singing the song Lady to other cows. I laughed my ass off. The song sounded sooo GREAT!! I loved the Roboto VW commercial, but this was much better. Damn it's funny. What is it advertising??

Anyway, seeing this commercial really does make me believe Dennis Deyoung is the Heart and Soul of Styx. I love Cyclorama, I really like the band now, but seeing and HEARING that commercial somehow showed me what Styx really was, is, and should be. They need Dennis back to rightfully call themselves Styx.

Gowan is excellent, Burtnik, and Welcome To Hollywood is one of the GREATEST CD's I have EVER heard. Still, and for a reason I cant even figure out that commercial brought me back to DDY being Styx.

Dennis's voice and music brought me to the band initially, some cows and his voice on the Styx classic 'Lady' just brought me back!!!!

That is a very funny ad, Yogi. Quite clever in its use of the song.

As to the Cardinals. Now that they are going to the World Series, will Dennis' VERY good friend, Tony LaRussa use some influence to get Dennis to sing the National Anthem at one of the games?

I sure HOPE so!!

The ad is for California Cheese. They've done a series of them. The one with Lady, is of course, a favorite of mine.

Yogi, The ad was for California Cheese. There was a time that you could see the video on their website. I'm not sure if it's there anymore. You'll need to go to: California Cheese, then to Happy Cows, then to Happy Cows TV. The "Lady" commercial was playing during the Superbowl too.

Tony LaRussa will be going into the Hall of Fame. You never know who might be singing at the Hall of Fame

"Lady" is one of my favorite songs of all time. I just can't see anyone else singing it - just MY opinion :)

At the 2000 Baseball National Hall Of Fame Induction ceromonies Dennis sang the national anthem.
Carlton Fisk is one of his favorite ball players and was inducted that year.
Tough choice but I may be leaning towards...GO Red Sox!!
Last time these two teams met was 1967. The Cardinals have won both times.
What a fantastic week of baseball and baseball history this has been!!! Dead tired are we baseball fans, but it has been a thrill!!
Boston came back from 3 down!! Yankees were three outs away from going to the big game. They got beat on their home turn on the Babe's b'day. UNREAL!!!

I emailed the California Cheese website about the Lady commercial and if they could repost it on the web site and they replied...

To answer your question, unfortunately, due to talent and music usage rights, we no longer have the authorization to post the TV commercial "Lady" on our website.
