Dennis Christmas Song

Postby ChicagoSTYX » Sat Dec 04, 2004 12:41 am

I just added I’ll Be Home For Christmas by Dennis to my iPod. I think it was from the Today Show in 1996. I cleaned it up a little and ran it though an equalizer and it sounds great. Dennis should record a Christmas CD. I think he could have some success with it. He could re-do Babe with a Christmas theme to it by changing the words around a little. It would be more like a novelty song but I bet he could get some airtime with it.

I think he could do justice to just about any Christmas song with his great voice. Certainly as good as anyone out there who has made a Christmas album --- and it seems to be nearly everyone.

Yes, it is from Today 1996, and yes he does it beautifully. I have it on video.

As for re-recording Babe, that's not gonna happen. And much though I like him musically speaking, even if he were to entertain such a notion, it wouldn't get airplay.

I would like to hear record a cd of Christmas music, but something tells me that isn't going to happen either.

Would you consider placing this somewhere to share it? I would love to have this for my Christmas music collection my wife plays every year.

Ash and anyone else :)

Did you ever go to the Styxnet site?

http://www.styxnet.com/

Then go to Paradise Radio. It's not up all the time, but when it is, you can hear any song sung by any member of Styx. One of my favorites is "To Miss Somebody" with Dennis and Jim Peterik. GREAT SONG - to me :)

The Paradise Radio is down right now, but if you ever see "To Miss Somebody" and "Unfinished Song" back to back, that's me playing the songs - LOL

They are rebuilding the server over at Paradise Radio and it is taking a bit longer than expected. But they have a ton of songs by Styx and most of the time you can pick any song you want to listen to, solo or group. They claim to have virtually any song that Styx has ever done. It is a great site.

"They" is actually Glen Burtnick's webmaster. He is always on the lookout for new material to add to it. It is a great resource for hearing all kinds of STyx and Styx related music.

Which is why I didn't use the person's name. I think the individual does a great job with Paradise and I commend them.
