My Youth......Going to see the orginal Main Event concert at the Minnesota State Fair back in 1978. I was sooo excited the night before and day of the concert I couldnt do anything.

Skipping an American Legion elimnation playoff game that I was suppose to be the starting pitcher in so I could go to night two of The Paradise Theatre Concert at the old Met Center. I had gone to the first show the night before. My skipping that game might of been the angriest my dad ever has gotten at me. He showed up at Midway Stadium going straight there from work to find me not at the game. I got home around 12:30 am that night and he was waiting up to have the responsibility, how I let my teammates, coaches,etc down, time to grow up, and be a man talk ( scream). NEVER regretted my decision!!

Finally, 1999 concert in San Antonio with my wife going 8 1/2 months pregnant, I swear my daughter heard EVERY song , cause she now loves their music.

My grade school and high school days. I look back at my pictures and have to giggle. I have a picture of my locker from high school with tons of pictures of Styx, Loverboy, Triumph and Journey. Ahhh, only to go back in time.

The wonderful harmonies with the band.

My very first record was a Styx 45 with the song "You Need Love". I'll never forget hearing "Lady" on the am radio playing. I still get very teary eyed when I hear "Lady" especially live with Dennis singing.

My kids love Styx too, especially "Mr. Roboto" - LOL

All you do is click on the profile button at the top of the page. Go to the bottom of your profile to where it shows the avatar. You can either change to one from this website, or enter a link to a pic from your own webspace, or from some other webspace that you have permission to link to (in other words, it's not proper to just link to a pic without the webspace owner knowing you did it).

My current girlfriend. Back in High School - I was (and still am) a huge fan. I dated this girl for 2 years at the time and turned her on to Styx. We both went to seperate College's and lost touch. I hadn't seen, spoken, or heard from her in 18 years - until this past July when a mutual friend of ours discovered my e-mail address through Classmates.com.
Well - we started e-mailing - both have been through divorces, have kids, etc....
Well - we finally got together for a cup of coffee in July - and haven't been apart since. I found out that every Styx show I attended in Detroit - she was there also - but we never ran into each other. I know it sounds like a Lifetime movie - but it is true!!!

Wow great story I have the same thing in my life but have never ran into the former Its been 25 years

I think of a night spent with about 6 friends spent at the local drive-in. We were all crammed into a 72 Impala with Come Sail Away cranked, singing along at the top of our lungs and paying absolutely no attention to the movie (after drinking several beverages that weren't purchased at the concession stand). Anyway, amidst the angry honks, we did our best . . . to carry on

Realizing as I listened to TGI played in its entirety on WIBA in Madison, WI. late one night in '77, the band I had seen first as TW4 the summer of 1970 had made a passionate and indelible mark in rock music as one of the great American bands of all time.

Unbelivable story
I heard the GI album played all the way through on the Loop FM 98 in Chicago in the summer of 77, We were in the backyard of my friends house in Norridge ILL with a full kegger and some smoke from Africa
Hearing Come Sail Away for the first time in my life was a shocker
I was blown away, I also saw Styx previous in 75 when the opened for BTO at the Chicago Stadium Styx blew BTO off the stage.
Born For Adventure with the Sword fight between JY and Dennis is something I still can remember to this day. Man these stories are awesome.

Hey Sadie,

TBOT was the prom theme at my senior prom as well......I sang it at the coronation / prom court rally or whatever the hell they call those things...

Great stories all, especially you Stumble ! I remember listening to TGI for the 1st time in the basement of my parents house turned up LOUD !
My older brother brought it home, and I was blown away the 1st listen through......
