New Songs - Dennis Concert

Postby SuiteMadameBlue » Thu Jan 13, 2005 7:46 am

I'm back :)

If you're not a Dennis fan or don't care, then please don't answer this.

Dennis will be adding a few songs to his concert. If you were to see Dennis perform live, with orchestra & band or just with his band, what songs would you like to hear/see him perform live? Please list your top 3 songs. These songs can be from his solo work or from his days with Styx.

Also what do you all think of Dennis singing "Lords of the Ring" live?

Yogi, I know you would like to hear "Born for Adventure" live, how does everyone else feel?

Thanks in advance for all the input :)

I think "Lords of the Ring" has some potential with an orchestra arrangement and Dennis singing it. He should have been the one to sing it on the original recording, but he did do some killer synth work in it.

Others I would like to hear him do:

Pieces of Eight (added already, I think)
Born for Adventure (what a wonderful, rollicking song!)
Don't Wait for Heroes
Replace Hello God with Harry's Hands
Once Upon a Dream (such a showcase for that amazing voice)
My God Can Beat Up Your God (I know he would offend too many if he performed it but it sure does rock out)

Good topic...

Lonely People (would be great with full orchestra)
Snowblind (duet with Michael Eldred - this song does not have to be creepy - it can be emotive in a painful way - and Michael can do this)
Unfinished Song (ok now I'm sucking up)...
I'm O.K.

Songs I'd Like to See Out of Spite:

Renegade (man this would be uber ballsy)
Blue Collar Man (think of it - could be on the next live album :) )
Fooling Yourself

Without a doubt, I would love to absolutely, positively hear the following:

Desert Moon
Pieces Of Eight (one of the best songs of all time, IMHO)
The Best Of Times (acoustically with just Dennis and a piano)
Grand Illusion (in the style of the album version)
Borrowed Time

Dennis already has the classics in right? So added to the list would be
Hello God
Castle Walls
Harry's hands-but Dennis could change it to Larry's HAnds and make fun of Larrys voice and say the only thing Larrys got is his hands (BEFORE and one says anything, I like Larry in Styx and I just having a little fun here)
Goodbye Roseland-ERIC
