going off on another tangent, I apologize, but when I read that Dennis (show) sold out, that's what popped into my mind !

As BAAAAAAD as Cold War was, High Time while it fit the concept of the album was even worse. Then when Styx put out one new release on Caught In The Act which was Music Time I actually Styx might be turning into a techno band.

I thought my god they didnt sell out during the disco era and now Dennis has them going techno. Dont You Want Me Baby, Dont You Want Me OOOO!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Speaking of disco check out Styx's new disco version of Blue Collar Man. Kool, and The Gap Band help Styx out with this version.

Ya know, this thread has gotten LONG ENOUGH that I missed a few outrages before just now. For instance…

FROY: I will tell ya what you can also put Hank Horton in Styx if Chuck cant do it
I say this its not what they look like that fits a persana
Its the quality of the music
Look at Shaw and Rickie do they look like they belong in Styx ?
I would say more of maybe in a Jesus Christ Superstar if you ask me
They look grunge looking and dirty .
Thats not Styx they were always a class act and that was Dennis's idea.

ADAM (that’d be me): What?

FYI, Froyd, Dennis once wore a beard, had probably the longest hair in the band at the time, and looked like he was STONED in group shots (talk about “grunge”). Now he looks like Bea Arthur.

For the record, DeYoung is the one who has turned into something very UN-Styxlike. He’s eased into a Liberace/Barry Mannequin persona in a PLATINUM WHITE AMMADEUS WIG.

Look, the guy is very talented, agreed. But – since you brought up “class” - is it only me who noticed DeYoung was dressing like a cross between a waiter and gondolier oarsman in the Return to Paradise video?

Oh and was JY EVER the squeaky clean accountant I think Froy would like to see playing in a rock band?

Froy would like Hank Horton up there, but has major problems with Shaw and Phillips (not to mention Young and Burtnik)! Huh? Not for nothing, but Hank’s not exactly Keanu Reeves.

The Styx which Froy craves sounds absolutely creepy to me. Besides, they’d hate each other. What an excellent idea.

He probably was stoned where do you think Light Up came from
Shaw was doing blow and JY and Dennis were doing bongs
Bottom line no pun that was along time ago when everyone was doing drugs. So what , We are talking about today not 25 years ago.
Shaw may still be doing blow who knows
He does look burned out thats for sure
A shower would help as well..

He looks just fine he stood 1 foot away from me and he looks great.
He could lead STYX again with no problem.

I saw the RTTP show 10 times ADAM did you know Dennis and the rest of the band went shopping prior to the tour and they bought 10 grand worth of stuff From the Gucci store ,
Your description is lame they dressed great on that tour,

Froy would like Hank Horton up there, but has major problems with Shaw and Phillips (not to mention Young and Burtnik)! Huh? Not for nothing, but Hank’s not exactly Keanu Reeves.

Hank is a down to earth guy who plays a hell of a bass and is friends with Both JY and Dennis.

The Styx which Froy craves sounds absolutely creepy to me.

I guess that makes you a creep but we already knew that.

Besides, they’d hate each other. What an excellent idea.

I know Hank was in the James Young Band. Didnt he do alot of the singing on the Raised By Wolves CD.

Did he sing lead on Hearts Not The Same, and some of the other softer songs on the CD?? If that is him he has an EXCELLENT voice!

Okay, now we’re getting somewhere! Froy admits DeYoung smoked (or smokes) pot! So much for Froy’s “Styx…were always a class act and that was Dennis's idea.” Froy is admitting DeYoung has imperfections!

Let’s move on to the next silly argument, shall we? After Froy criticizes Ricky & Tommy’s current fashion choices, I point out how ridiculous I thought DeYoung looked on RTP (“a cross between a waiter and gondolier oarsman…Liberace/Barry Mannequin…in a PLATINUM WHITE AMMADEUS WIG” – you must admit, this is good stuff, people!).

To this Froy replies “Dennis and the rest of the band went shopping prior to the tour and they bought 10 grand worth of stuff From the Gucci store”.

Is this a defense? Does this equate with good taste? When’s the last time you saw a fashion catwalk on TV? There is more often LESS that you’d wanna be caught dead wearing than anything that LOOKS GOOD being designed by fashion designers today. Madonna’s cone shaped bras were designed by Gucci too. Liza Minelli’s most recent ex dresses in designer clothes, so does Joan Rivers. These people are FASHION VICTIMS!

The more you spend, the stupider you look! Here’s a little something you should try to remember, Froy: AMOUNT OF MONEY SPENT HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH CLASS OR TASTE. Spending boat loads of money on designer clothes for RTP made DeYoung look like Milton Berle wearing Pepe LaPew’s wardrobe.

Okay, and while on one hand Froy critiiques Styx’ rock look, on the other he suggests Hank Horton should join Styx. When it is pointed out that Hank ain’t exactly Jude Law, Froy responds with “Hank is a down to earth guy who plays a hell of a bass and is friends with Both JY and Dennis.“

Is this all it takes to join Froyd’s Styx? Good thing Froy’s not the “record mogul” he fancy’s himself. Hank is great, but so is Andre Bocelli.

FROY: He could lead STYX again with no problem.
ADAM: He could, with the exception of a few minor problems like A) They’re tired of the guy B) They don’t feel he deserves to be paid more than the rest of them and C) He hasn’t written a rock song in 25 years.

FROY: There is no room in the world for hate ADAM only people with issues
Hate and that sounds like Tom and Jim to a T

ADAM: I’m not sure about your point there (do only people with issues hate? I don't believe you are required to have issues to hate Adolf Hitler and Osam Bin Laden) but I know this: YOU’RE the guy who comes on these boards flaming the current Styx, calling other posters names. Meanwhile, Styx and DeYoung are doing fine.

I wouldn’t be the first to suggest you drop it, let go and move on.

And just for the record Your Honor, Froy called me a creep. Waaaa!

Hank really does have a terrific voice. I made the mistake of thinking it was Dennis harmonizing with himself on "Goodnight My Love." Hank set me straight on that -- he harmonizes with Dennis on it.

Their voices blend very well and it really sounds nice onstage.

I know he sang lead on several songs off that cd, and yes he does have a great voice. He's also a really cool guy in person.

I would hate to see him back in the band. A & B I agree with, not so sure on C. I think though that's subjective.

The band as it currently exists isn't a good mix for anyone of them to reunite.

I hear you on Chuck and Todd, don't know about Ricky, but I'm shocked that you put Larry's name in there. That implies you've listened to the entire Gowan catalog. I didn't think you had it in you, froy. What exactly went through your mind when you were listening to all those Gowan songs? :D :D

Does Ricky not have writing credits on some BE songs? He may have writing credits on some of the Frederisckson(sp)/Phillips songs too...but, I was never too fond of that CD and don't remember what it was like.
