1. Styx managed to do one thing nobody else has managed to do... and that is sound bad at the rhyman auditorium. Too much midrange, no bass, and no high end... mix was muddled and terrible.
2. An encore of three cover songs that people aren't used to hearing just so you get to hear "Renegade" is "a long way to go".
3. JY sounds awful trying to cover hendrix. If you're going to cover hendrix then you should "be a virtuoso at your instrument which JY is not". He also said it sounded "soul-less" and unemotive.
4. The crowd was between 1400 and 1500. Which is slightly over 65% capacity for the venue. (by comparison, about 25,000 packed the pavilion and lawn at Starwood Ampitheatre to see Styx in 1997) when Kansas was opening for them.
I'll post the review once he has it written if he gives me permission

Another review from Froy. Doesn't see them, doesn't hear them, but is qualified to give the review. He must work for Rolling Stone Magazine.
I wanted to go because I wanted to give them another chance. I saw them with REO back on the Brave New World thing and was not impressed
Couple of things about the concert. The first show back is always a little sketchy for any band.
Tommy's post on styxworld says thay really only had time for a standard rehearsal.
As far as the covers, they have been playing covers for the better part of two years or so that lead into renegade.
[/quote]Lorelie returning to the set had pretty much been dropped for most of last year. Glad they've brought it back.
It used to bug me that the pro Dennisites weren't busting Froy on his Froyistic Froyishness,
but now I can get back to slaying bigger dragons. (I'm like a superhero.)

you're right and I've always known this...and so if you listen closely you can hear the sound od Adam resisting urges to respond to the unrelenting display of brainlessness and disrespect...

FROY: I respond to brainless disrespect all day thats why Im here
ADAM: Ya know, Froy is providing such a service for us all. He's here for our own good, shedding the light of positivity into all our hearts. I say we all take a moment today to thank Froy for all he does for us - he gives and gives everyday, and we only benefit.
Thank you Froy.
