Postby BlackWall » Fri Mar 11, 2005 10:49 pm

Does anyone know for sure what songs the band was pushing towards radio during these releases?

Here are the ones I'm aware of..

1.Best Thing
2.Lady
3.I'm Gonna Make You Feel It
4.Winner Take All or Young Man, anyone know?
5.Lies
6.You Need Love(after Lady's success)

Are these all of the singles they tried?

I honestly don't know if it was intended to be a single, but I do have a dj promotional 45 of Unfinished Song.

shit sadie... you'd better shut up or you're going to have SuiteMadamBlue camped out on your lawn until you sell it to her.

Could you imagine what that would go for on ebay? You should list it with a $1,000,000 reserve to see what it's worth

LOL. I can assure you, Suite knows I have it. And while I don't think the song is the best, like she does, I think I'll hold on to it.

Never!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I never said I didn't like the song, I just don't think it's as awesome as you believe it is. You can keep your promo of Hello God (though that is a pretty cool item to have).

Mwahhahhhhahhh

Good Thread Black Wall.

I'd like to know too if Wooden Nickel released any other singles. I do know that they sure didn't put money in promoting any of the Styx albums way back when.

"Best Thing" was released in 1972, made it to #82
"Lady" was released in 1975, made it to #6

These were released on 45's:

Little Fugue in "G" / Father O.S.A.
Best Thing / Having a Ball
You Need Love / You Better Ask
Lady / Children of The Land

Here is a list until 1999 what was released that I could find. Hope this helps :)

Thanks for the info, Suite, I think that list is fairly accurate, especially from '77 on, but I'm thinking that there had to be some singles from "Serpent" and "Miracles". I'm also wondering if "Lorelei" was the only single from "Equinox"? As for "Love At First Sight", it was a top 40 hit, I know that much, but I believe it was only released on tape(could be wrong)?? I wonder if that could be the reason why it wasn't included on this list..

"Love at First Sight" was released as a cd single - different kind of cover that I've seen. All I could find is that it reached the Top 30.

You're welcome Black Wall :)

I wish there was ONE Styx sight that had the correct history of the band, all the albums and singles released and where they charted, all the lyrics, a list of all the bootlegs that are out there, all the television appearances, copies of all the magazine/newspaper articles out there, concert information and reviews, a ton of pictures from over the years, etc., etc., etc.,

Now I feel better :)

I hope everyone has a GREAT day :)

Man, wouldn't that be nice? As it is now, it's so easy to get conflicting information.
