Time for me to render my two cents worth on this subject. First off, I consider myself both PRO figurine, and PRO bra- pantie. But.... can these two VERY VERY different type of gifts exist in the same band????

Dennis's fans shower him with figurines and Tommy's and JY's shower them with bras and panties. Based on these facts I believe Styx should have broken up well before 1999.

The figurine/ bra-pantie discrepancy is just tooooo great to overcome.

I'm with Sadie, I thought it was going to be really horrible. After being back stage a few times at various concerts, it's really interesting to hear what musicians say of what they received or of the crowd. I'm not talking about just Dennis, others too.

This just happened last month at Dennis' show: Just imagine being on stage for a 2 1/2 hour show and then going to a meet and greet. I'm going to add there was a HUGE winter storm coming in that night and you want to go home!!!! There should have been only 100 people there, but they allowed more. You (the fans) are asked in a nice way to please just have one thing signed and no pictures (with the musician). So everyone can have a turn. Well of course everyone wants their picture, okay a few slip by. Then you have the people that bring over 20 old albums, I kid you not. This guy wanted all of them signed and I don't think he was taking no for an answer. Dennis was kind enough to sign all of them. I was actually shocked, I would've said no.


I was at the same conversation talking with Matt, but like usual I can't remember everything - LOL

I do know that over the years since the late 1970's, Dennis was given TONS of stuff after EACH concert, same as the other guys in the band. What do you keep? Where do you keep it?

I talked with a few other band, (yes I do talk with other bands-LOL), I know that they donate stuffed animals to local hospitals or charities, if they're in good condition. Hand made drawings are sometimes signed and auctioned off for local charities too.

My friend Sandi got panties thrown at her from the band on Saturday! She called one of her guy friends and said, "Would you like a pair of panties from the Styx show?" LMAO

I guess they don't keep them anymore. lol

After going to a Carrot Styx concert last year, I was pretty disgusted seeing teenage girls (their exact ages were 14 & 15) throwing the bras and panties to 50+ year OLD guys, ewwwwwww. That just wasn't right. Some of them are old enough to be their Grandpa's. LOL

Sure it's minor.I agree.But this just to put a little smudge on the view of a certain tunnelvisioned person's outlook of Saint Dennis.
I also understand that one can't keep everything one is given.I don't.

I wonder when it will register that there are some, who no matter what they are confronted with, will never concede the point. I work with some people like that. But, windmill tilting is a wonderful hobby.

I only brought up this article when the magazine was brought up.
I mentioned it but did not print it.I was asked to.
So I did.
Yes I do tilt windmills ,in the opposite direction.I do like the fresh air.

Yes, indeed, we are so fragile. The windmill tilting was of course, in reference to the idea that some individuals would somehow miraculously change their opinions or stance when confronted with specific examples. And we know the targetted individual(s) now don't we. You were very fair and I appreciate your sharing the article when pressed for it. Just be careful of those windmill vanes, they pack quite a wallop.

I'll be the first to admit, I'm a little disappointed by this, but surprised? No.. I think Dennis said it best in "Fallen Angel"- "It's best to follow your heart then to follow me, I'm only a singer, playin' a song"..

I'd like to think that if I could ever make it to the level of fame that Dennis or any of the guys from Styx had, I'd be the most grateful, friendly, and humble person, but think how many times Dennis was hounded by fans during that period? Think how many times he had to answer the same questions, listen to the same comments.. I realize it's all part of the job, and one could make the argument that he wouldn't have been where he was if it hadn't been for the fans, and while that's true, he's still human, and I imagine any of us would sometimes crack under that pressure.
