Ala Prince, what if Dennis Deyoung went into court and had his named officially changed to Styx. What would happen next????????

His next tour could read: 'STYX performing the music of styx and Dennis Deyoung'!!!!!

I'd be down with it!!!!!!!!

I thought that was rude, "Itsmylife". And I thought Yogi raised an interesting enough thought here. What's wrong with THAT?

It's easy to be a CRITIC. Critics are negative people who slam others who DO things. Critics have bashed Styx for years. What do you think is more valueable: the efforts of Styx or the efforts of their detractors?

Yogi brought up a scenario. That's positive. Or are we only allowed to discuss topics deemed worthy by someone with a Bon Jovi song title as their screename?

There's obviously some sort of need to feel superior here and the only way to accomplish that is by dishing out the insults to those who don't vehemently agree with everything it says. You may notice the posts have gotten progressively more insulting and nasty since it joined. My guess is that it's only going to get worse.

Hmmmm. "Styx DeYoung".......has a certain cachet.........

Or how about Dennis DeStyx???

He could carry the Prince thing even further. Could write, instead of "slave" on the side of his face, something like "dissed" or "thrown out".

Interesting scenario, Master Yogi.

Read the other thread where Master Yogi was extremely rude to me. I'm embarrassed for him and Tommy.

You need to spend a little more time here, IML, to "get" Yogi. He is a believer in extreme posts, but they are often funny and always meant in humor.

He is a good guy. Trust me. And he is very up-front about liking both Dennis and the Current Styx. He kids around about them all.

Sometimes you just have to stand back and look at things in a humorous light, though heaven knows there are those who post here who live in a Humor Free Zone. That zone has a name, but I won't go there this time.

Master Yogi, that has a nice ring to it!! Interesting name change. Since Yogi was once a GREAT GREAT dog of mine and I guess I was his mas... well, whatever. I like it though!

Think of the potential of a Dennis Deyoung name change if the courts allowed it------
Here is one advertisement: Saturday June 11 One Night Only

STYX featuring the artist formally known as Dennis Deyoung performing

All the HITS!!!!!!!

with special guest Air Supply

or when his new CD is complete The Rolling Stone Advertisement

could read:

The CD you have been waiting for has arrived

STYX- 'Broadway is Dead' on EMI records & tapes

* See STYX this summer performing his Lost Treasures Tour*

Major, Major potential!! Someone ought to tell Dennis!!!!!!!

Tipper, Thanks again for the name change-- I guess this name change thing is going around!!!!!!!

Really, when Dennis started penning the ballads all too frequently, "the artist formerly known as DDY" would've been very appropriate!

I think Denny should just change his name to

"The original Artists"

Then he could release a covers album on Katell and claim that all the songs were performed by "The original Artists"
