I am of a mind to not care much for Lisa Marie Presley's version of "Dirty Laundry."

Sheryl Crow: Sweet Child O Mine YUCK!

And while I like some of Marilyn Manson's stuff, I think their cover of Highway To Hell is possibly the worst cover I've ever heard!

My feeling is EVERYONE needs to leave Beatles music alone. Perfection cannot be improved upon.

There are some decent covers out there, but the original is so far superior that ....why bother???

MHO Only

Any version of Da Doo Ron Ron...

Sadie (who respectfully disagrees that the Beatles were "perfection", and yet agrees that their music isn't a good choice to be covered)

Have to disagree with you here, though. The Beatles' music is far, FAR from perfect, IMO. I wouldn't have a single Beatles release in my home if it weren't for the hubby. It's okay, though, I knew when I married him he wasn't perfect!

I thought half of the tunes on the "I Am Sam" CD were VERY good.

I wasn't and I'm still not familiar with a lot of Beatles songs. I don't care for the Beatles music, no offense. I should have added I don't care for Beatles songs or any Beatles covers.

I just went back and took Beatles off. hmmmm

To add, I like Paul McCartney and Wings.

I'm also not familiar with a lot of songs that are going to be on the BBT cd.

styxfanNH, I hope it's not "pick on Suite" weekend. I'm not prepared for it

Mariah Carey - "Bringin' On The Heartbreak"

Horrible version of Def Leppard's classic. She should have been shot even though Leppard's own stuff these days is just as bad.

How anyone cannot care for The Beatles is shocking.

Still the best band ever... 35 years after their demise.

I don't know about the worst ever, but I'm not crazy about Sheryl Crow's version of Cat Steven's, "The First Cut Is The Deepest".

Suite and I have been here before, LOL! I do agree. The Beatles' influence on every band that came after them is still going on today.

I know Dennis has said they had a huge influence on the music of Styx. If nothing else, certainly in their harmonies. But also in melodies and pop sensibilities.

I know, I know, I just don't care for the Beatles music, never did. My first music was Styx and will end with Styx. I have my funeral music almost picked out (I know it's morbid, but oh well). I know a lot of bands and musicians are influenced by the Beatles. I just couldn't sit down to any of their cds/albums. I don't care for Pink Floyd either or Fleetwood Mac and egad The Doors - ACK.

On bowling nights I have to get to the bowling alley early to play all my music, otherwise I'm stuck listening to the above mentioned - ack.

I'm glad we all like a variety of music :)

Isn't that Rod Stewart's "The First Cut Is The Deepest" or was that a cover of Cat Steven's?
