From what I have heard this is a very sad day for STYX fans
Simply a terrible idea
These songs don't even gel at all

ChicagoSTYX wrote:[Froy, I hope you really do listen to the CD before you start blasting it. I have never liked the idea of cover songs either especially a full CD of covers but it seems to be the direction a lot of older artists are going these days. Maybe the record company thinks that an older artist has a better chance of getting air play with proven material. People will hear a new version of a song they recognize by an artist they used to listen to 20 years ago and give it a chance. If it is done well it could work. Personally I would prefer a CD of new original material by Styx but that will have to wait until next year. For now I will enjoy Big Bang Theory and appreciate it for what it is, a CD of songs that influenced my favorite band and are newly recorded by my favorite band. To me it sounds like Styx that is my opinion.

Adam: I don't believe there is any crime in NOT having heard some classic rock song before. WHAT'S WRONG WITH THAT?

Sorry Froy! The more I hear of this CD, the more impressed I am. The songs sound much better than I was expecting. True, some of them don't sound like Styx at all; some sound very Styx IMO.

If you don't like Def Leppard, why would you like them covering songs by bands you do like?![]()
Leppard used to be a great band... but they've turned into a joke. They haven't released anything worthwhile since 1987. To top it off they now seem embarrassed that they were a hard rock band at one time and try to distance themselves from that every chance they get.

Froy:Name 1 remake that worked.

So 10 on Broadway was a failure IYO? Or DDY's cover of Hendrix's "Fire"? (which I personally like better than the original)
Or was that not DDY since he wasn't doing DDY songs?

That’s just off the top of my head, I’ll have to think a little to come up with more
