*** DEAD HORSE ALERT ***

Sometimes I wish that that one Star Trek Next Gen episode with all of the alternate realities was possible so we could see every possible outcome of every possible action.

In the abscense of that, we're left to mindless debate what would have, should have, could have but never was nor never will be.

You can't even answer a legitimate question...

Always taking pot shots...

But you'll bitch whenever anyone critizes the current line-up.

F OFF.

Sure, why not? Dennis had no qualms about releasing his own covers album (in fact, that was his last major label release) and it seemsa to me his songwriting output may have either diminished or taken a less rock approach in recent years. Of coursae, your question is hypothetical, so it COULD be possible he woulds write more rock if he had a band that was in that direction...but my guess is a solid yes.

The ever hypothetical...sigh...

I'd weigh in against it. I'd think whether he wrote rock, pop, Broadway, whatever, Dennis would have prefered to have the band record new material. And the others in the band would write what they write. And so it goes.

And I am not going to be sucked into the appropriateness of whether or not a covers album is good or bad for anyone.

Peace

Hey I'd take ya..... oh wait I'm married. Almost forgot about that.

Ditto on the personal insults thing.

Incidentally, this question or some variant of it has only been asked about 732472395709 times in the last 7 years - so perhaps you can understand why you're not getting page after page of doctoral thesis on the matter.

Just trying to be helpful. The search feature is wonderful.

Nope, as long as Zan is going to antagonize... I'm going to personally insult where I see fit.

Hey... you can thank her. I brought up a legitimate topic... and she waltzes in only to antagonize.

But that's OK.... the double standards around here are amazing.

I will only chime in to say that while I have often had problems with some of what was posted here, I have never condoned personal attacks on anyone. Anyones marital status, or any other piece of their personal lives SHOULD remain off limits...even if someone feels the post made was somehow flippant or off target. That in no way condones making really low, nasty comments in response.
That being said, I have the feeling I won't be long for this place...since the game of one upmanship is becoming more apparent with every post.

Wonder when you guys might want to start talking about the very thing that brought you to this board...

Peace

It's certainly no mystery why this person has to resort to personal attacks. At least not to me, and most likely several others here. Nothing he says has or ever will phase me, as much as it kills him to hear it. I'm sure he already knows this...but it's human nature to grasp at every last straw there is, I guess.

However, thanks for the back-up, guys.

And Ash, your wife's a lucky lady, I'm sure. :)

Antagonizing people is a violation too.

So... I'll respond as I see fit as long as it continues.

No, it's not. Andrew has NEVER said that. You are making up your own rules as you see fit. The ONLY "rule" that I have ever seen Andrew post is "no personal attacks". He has NOT posted "No antagonizing posts".

Keep defending someone that antagonizes solely for the sake of antagonizing.

I posted a legitimate topic only to be antagonized.

Nope, I posted a legitimate topic about what the band would be doing with Dennis still in the band and it was Zan who couldn't control herself by making a smart comment when the last 5 years would have been boring. At first I thought she was talking about her sex life and then I figured out she meant with Dennis.

Yep, and you'll be banned if you continue to insult.

Yeah, so? The problem here isn't Zan's comments. The problem is your small mind has an inability to ingore them

At first I thought she was talking about her sex life and then I figured out she meant with Dennis.

Well, I didn't know she had a sex life with Dennis. Wonder how you found out? Also, how do you know that a sex life with Dennis is 'boring'?

The truth will set you free.

All truth is God's truth...I don't think it is up to you to determine which perpective is truth and which is expressed from a myopic vision.

It's always been interesting to me how some people can take their opinion and themselves so seriously. What makes them so special that they feel the need to galantly fight for their version of the 'truth'? What is ironic, and soooo obvious to me, is they are fighting a battle that can't be won...because the people on the other side are just as thick skinned about THEIR version of the 'truth' and will fight just as hard back, and just as vigorously. It's a battle that can't be won - by anybody. But, in a forum like this - everybody can lose.

Who knows with her but what I was referring to is that she said Styx with Dennis would be boring. She's some wit.

Again... I posted a legitimate topic for discussion and she had to come in and insult as she has done in countless topics.

I responded. I will continue to respond when antagonized.

You guys need to take a chill pill! Seems to me that the problem isn't so much what people post, but that you have your preconceived notions of how they're going to respond and you read those notions into their post. For example, Zan did not say the last 5 years would have been boring with DeYoung, only that they would have been boring. Me? I took that to mean they would have been boring without all the hell that's been raised because of the split. Is that a slam at DeYoung? Definitely not. Now I'm not saying that's how Zan meant her comment, just that until IML started ranting, his interpretation did not even occur to me. And you know what? Even if that IS what she meant, well, that's fine because she's entitled to her opinion, same as everyone else here.

Sheesh. To think I was led to believe this was a great place to have FRIENDLY discussions about Styx & DeYoung.
