One man's definition of "Classic" is another man's "not the original band" I suppose...but I'm being a jerk, so I'll stop. I accept everyone's definition of "Classic Styx" (although I will not 'bow down' to it as some 'perfection' of the group...AND I might point out that John & Chuck should NOT be discounted!)

I'll do Born For Adventure. 'Women, Whiskey & Sin" one of the GREATEST lines ever. Does it get ANY better???????

Also, I TOTALLY & COMPLETELY disagree of your definition of 'Classic' Styx. Classic Styx is ANY album that was done for A&M. Equinox is 'Classic' Styx!!!!! Equinox started the'Classic' sound. Tommy or no Tommy they were going to HIT HUGE once they got to A&M!!!!!!!

I agree, John and Chuck should not be forgotten, they will always be part of the "Classic Styx" line-up.

I can't sing, but I'll pick the song "Why Me". Yesterday was the perfect day to hear that song :) I like to attempt to sing "Lights"

Blue Collar Man

Cool! I think that would bring the total up to 87 versions and counting. :D

I could cover Aku Aku

Acutally, I think JY is the only one I could do justice to. So since Captain America is already taken, I will do Midnight Ride.

Exxxxceeeelnt choice, Dave! Big thumbs up. In fact, I think we should cover the entire Equinox album as a side project.
Whadaya think, Yogi?

I will change from Unfinished Song to Light Up.

Born for Adventure -- what a terrific song!

Well, then add "Unfinished Song" to my previous list! This song's becoming my life motto!

Blinks...looks around...sees thread nearly hijacked, but not successfully. After recovering from shock, has to ask for judges ruling on this song, only because she's not sure if it falls into category or not based on various answers.

Decides she will go for Borrowed Time and Nothing Ever Goes as Planned.
Wishes she could do justice to Man in the Wilderness.

Well, I'd forgotten there was a difference between "classic" and "original" Styx. I will, however, abide by the judges decision.

If we're covering Equinox bell to bell, I'll take a stab at Suite Madame Blue.......the band I was in in High School played it in a talent show, 1st
R&R song I ever performed in Public. We had a 16 person choir doing backing vocals ( very cool on the "Americas" !!! ) and a small orchestra
behind us including a timpani drum before the final chreschendo.

Brings back some fun memories.........

I choose John C's "You Better Ask" because he really doesn't get much love! :)

Besides, that song is a "Needs More Cowbell" candidate. ;)
