No, this is not a thread about what JY thinks of DDY. I am sure several of you have heard of this documentary film about Metallica (and probably seen it as well). I decided to wait to rent it when it came out on DVD, and then VH1 accommodated me with a free showing without commercials.

While I am not a big Metallica fan (tho’ I love their drummer, Lars), I found this a fascinating study of band dynamics, band creativity, the innermost workings of a band, etc.

Though, of course, it has only to do with THIS band, I would think there are a lot of broader comparisons one could make to nearly any band in existence.

I highly recommend viewing this one if you get an opportunity. You can have no interest in this band whatsoever and still enjoy watching it. I found it absorbing and never boring.
