You're completely delusional. They recorded an album with someone else replacing Tommy... it got rejected... if it hadn't DY would have existed without Tommy on tour.

Tommy couldn't comit to DY because he was too interesting in making 50% of Styx tours.

Wishful thinking on your part doesn't change that.

Because Damn Yankees isn't Damn Yankees without Tommy Shaw's beautiful voice blended with Jack Blades and Ted Nugent.

Rock on!

(Just my small, but humble opinion!)

Go ahead - blast away.

By the way, Thanks Monker for posting those reviews. I've read them before and never got the impression that TS wanted nothing to do with DY.
Again, my 2 cents worth.

I agree... that was a train wreck of a project.

It's just as bad as replacing Dennis DeYoung in Styx with a no talent.

Now go read the other thread "The REAL reason Tommy came back to Styx in 1995...." where I prove Monker has NO idea what he's talking about.

Tommy Shaw WAS involved in the DY3 album...but not on every track as was the case on the first 2 albums.
He was involved on maybe 3 tracks if I recall correctly, one of which was re-recorded for the Blades solo album (Shine On).

Damon Johnson sat in on the remaining tracks. Jack wanted to record the DY album at a time where Tommy was busy getting the new line up of Styx on the road and did not want to commit.

I think Jack was peeved at the time, but that's long since passed...

The DY3 album was not great - didn't sound like the band at all, apart from a few tunes...the producer also put a modern stamp on it and the label gave up on them. Wisely.

But they will return better than ever next year I hope.

To carry this on a little further then. If Tommy reunited with the DY crew, album and tour, what then would become of JY? Styx?

I have always wondered about this.

I have my ideas, but don't feel like getting into the blast furnace over them.

I think if DY did do a CD and tour it would be a year long process and not much more then that. I don’t think Ted would be willing to commit to much more then that. I could see Styx taking a year off. After all they have been going for almost 7 years straight. I’m sure the guys would like to take a break before starting on the next CD and tour. My guess is that they would break this September and plan on starting the next CD in January of 2007 with a tour to follow that summer. That’s how I see it if DY were to do anything. On the other hand I heard that Night Ranger is planning on recording a new CD late this year so maybe this DY thing is not going to happen anytime soon if at all.
