A Little Styx Publicity

Postby bugsymalone » Fri May 06, 2005 11:23 pm

I saw this as I was reading this week's TV Guide. Always love to see these kinds of references in widely read publications.

TV Guide, May 8-14 issue - From an article about Without A Trace star Enirque Murciano (who plays Danny Taylor if you watch the show)

It’s business as usual on the Burbank, California set of CBS’s Without a Trace when Enrique Murciano finds himself consumed with trying to solve a real-life mystery of sorts. He’s killing time before shooting a scene with costar Eric Close when he suddenly starts belting out a succession of retro-rock – REO Speedwagon, Journey, and finally Styx “I’ll try, oh, Lord, I’ll try, to caaaaaaaary on!!” Then …. silence. That’s all he’s got. The rest of “Come Sail Away” has Murciano stumped and , boy, if it isn’t bugging him. Enough so that he finally turns to one of the show’s sound guys for help. “Hey, do you have Styx’s Greatest Hits?” he pleads. “Come on, man, you gotta have it!”

And at the end of the article:

“Driving gives me time to think.” As Styx put it, it helps him carry on.

Yeah, well, the article was not THAT enlightened, but I liked the fact that it was that song that was referenced.

Come Sail Away is from STYX and the album The Grand Illusion.

You seem to be forgetting without Tommy Shaw and his bowling exploits there would be no Come Sail Away.

Sing with me

' I'm Bowl ing 10 frames'
' set an open course'
' with no tournment fee'

I almost forgot Big Bang is up to #250 on amazon this morning. Look out #1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Classic adds:

" Cus I've got to play 3.......
free to face the splits
that lie ahead for me

on my team I'm the captain
so climb aboard
we'll search for 300
or maybe more........ "

( sorry, couldn't stop myself ! )

I have my last night of bowling guys, I'm sure I can think of something - LOL

Thanks for the article Bugsy. I'm sure this summer there will be more of a buzz with Styx song especially since "A Perfect Man" is coming out. I wouldn't be surprised if we hear "Mr. Roboto" more on the radio. It's being requested a TON of times on our Mix radio station
