Man, this sounds like a GREAT event. On top of a FREE DeYoung SYMPHONY show, there are a lot of good performers over the course of the week. I sure wish I could justify the 12-hour drive. If I thought I could get the hubby to agree, we'd go up for the whole festival!

Free Show? When it was announced the Styx was doing a free show in Chicago some people on this board were quick to accuse Styx of not being able to sell tickets which is not the case. What’s the story with Dennis doing a free show?

Anytime there is free music to be had it's a win/win thing for everyone.

Usually, it means someone put the money up for the show and has decided to not bother wanting to make it back or sees it as some sort of promotional thing for a product or service.

I've always said that if I won the lottery, I was going to buy a big building somewhere in Nashville and throw free concerts until the money was gone. I'd have quite the collection of acts to that I'd book there...

Dennis
REO (for the wife as she loves them and I love her)
Slipknot
Cradle of Filth
Styx
Fear Factory
Queensryche (provided they play all of operation mindcrime and nothing post 1996).
Cold
David Ruis
Devildriver
Marilyn Manson
KoRn
Hall & Oates
Mudvayne
They Might Be Giants
Vacuum

I could go on for days

Did I hear the word FREE???

I love free concerts!!! Sounds like a great time, even though it's in Viking territory - UGH

LOL, I like to have fun with Carrot Styx fans, they're so sensitive - JUST KIDDING

The story with Dennis doing a free show is that he (&band & everyone else) was asked, paid and come to perform, just like the other bands performing there. Just like at Summerfest, just like Carrot Styx at the Rosemont show. If you are paid, you will perform :)

OT - Bugsy

LOL  - I thought he was so hot too in the 80's!! I still have my Loverboy stuff from high school. He's a GREAT guy and really fun to talk with, all the guys were. This was after Loverboy played at the zoo in Milwaukee. The guys in the band stayed for an extra 45 minutes and just hung with fans.

In a couple days I'll put up another picture that you'll have to guess. It should be easy for the 80's fans.
