What???

Later this summer Tommy Shaw, James "JY" Young, Todd Sucherman, Lawrence Gowan, and Ricky Phillips will be back on tour reminding their fans why they've sold more than 20 million records.

Are they talking about their Cyclowhatever cd sales?

Wow... thats hilarious.

There is an obvious dig in there.. . but that statement is so ridiculous...

Of course thats just a bastard record company trying to hock a CD .... so they'll say anything to make a buck

Why didn't you know Dennis DeYoung was never in Styx? He had no part in those 20 million (it is actually closer to 30 million) sales.

This is all written in the new book, debuting at No. 5 on the Fiction Bestseller lists. "Styx, the Revised History: The Glory Years 1999-2005"

Most of those 20 million records sold by Styx were released by a Universal record company. I guess since they own the songs they can say it any way they want to in order to promote the new record. It is a play on words. When they talk about Van Halen, Bad Company, or Journey I’m sure they would lump all incarnations of the band together the same way when speaking about record sales.

I know, but I was just making a point with the name of the current members that they had listed. They could've just said the band Styx will be on tour this summer, blah blah blah. But then again, they are letting people know who the current members are.

I think everyone is missing the boat here. What they meant was that the current members of the band calling themselves Styx; Tommy, JY, Ricky, Todd and Larry have been in bands at one time or other that have COMBINED to sell 20,000,000 records! :D

I'm sure if you combine Classic Styx with Bad English, The Babys, Damn Yankees, Shawblades and Larry's solo stuff you'd easily get 20 mil.

LOL, I've missed the boat quite a few times on this board. Thanks for clearing it up.

ChicagoStyx, thanks for posting the link. If I was a current Carrot Styx fan I'd be bidding on it.
