HOLY SMOKES

Postby styxfanNH » Wed May 11, 2005 3:44 am

From Tommy on Styxworld. Do You Believe? Say a big A-MEN!!!

This is a day we've been waiting for since the idea first sprang to life months ago to create the Big Bang Theory. The record is in stores today.

What we did not expect to hear was that 8 tracks, yes EIGHT tracks for Big Bang Theory charted in the Media Base Classic Rock Chart's top 100, with "I Don't Need No Doctor" leading the way at #6. We're all still getting up off the floor from that news. I don't know if we've ever had such a thing happen, so all we can say about it is--THANK YOU!

Just think they can do cover cds every year heck they don't even need to play STYX music anymore they can do a Led Zep cover cd next
Shaw really thinks he's hit the big time copying other bands
Shows just where his head is at ,
Anyone who can send a link to that media based chart I would love to see it , Its no place on google.

Froy,

You are now trying to look up stuff on google to try and prove Tommy Shaw a liar. Its SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO damn funny how bad you want them to fail. You are 100% obsessed with Styx failing.

I would not even think of posting that one Assembly Line I had started quite a while back, but DAMN you need some MAJOR MAJOR help.

try mediabase.com (duh!)...but of course you have to have a password to access it.

There is plenty of info on Google about it. It took me five minutes to find out it is a chart based on radio play only...with 1500 or so radio stations reporting to them. It is also the chart which had "I Am the Walrus" charting.

Having eight songs on the chart is incredible, IMO. This CD is getting a lot of air time!

Why is Shaw thanking the fans when its a media site
Try as you might Shaw this will sell less than rama and even then you won't give up .

And thats going to be the kicker nobody will buy it even with all the stations trying so hard to make it work
Funny even GI did not have 8 songs in the rotation and it sold millions
This will sell 10 grand tops .

STYX fans want Dennis DeYoung and STYX music not Larry Gowan and cover tunes . Just the followers are happy today

Froy,

You are jealous of a rock band. How damn sick is that?? I wonder if John C. wanted them to fail when Tommy replaced him. He had a vested intrest in Styx, you dont.

To want misfortune to fall on them as bad as you do is a sickness. It's wierd, and not normal.

I hope Dennis has all the success in the world. The success they had back in the day was GREAT, but now times have changed. I would love the current group to hit it HUGE again!!! If they hit it bigger than when Dennis was with them GREAT. If not thats GREAT too.Just stay active, thats all I care about. Dennis too!!!!! I would LOVE for him to reach new heights and for a new generation to discover his unbelievable talents.

You should maybe think about contacting a shrink or some sort of 'Deyoung Sensitive' support group. Look in the Yellow pages under 'wackos'!!!!!!!

Because it is the fans that allow Styx to continue, not radio or any other media.

You're wrong. The DJ's I listened to talked for about ten minutes about how good the CD was. That is good promotion...and it will sell records...hearing the songs will also sell records. Your words are so insignificant in the grand scheme of things that they won't deter ANYBODY from buying the album.

Funny even GI did not have 8 songs in the rotation and it sold millions This will sell 10 grand tops.

froy, that was almost thirty years ago...that is not exactly comparible in today's world.

I bet it outsells Cyclorama, by a long ways. You really need to swallow your pride on this one and quit making claims that are not remotely resembling reality. They probably sold 10,000 units today alone.

I liked Styx EVERY bit as well when Glen replaced Tommy for the Edge CD and tour back in 1991. If Tommy Shaw had NEVER come back to Styx I would of been fine with that.

I liked Styx the VERY BEST with John C, and Equinox.

So Froy what you need to do now is... go turn off 10 from Hunchback, close your trailer windows, turn on you're black and white, adjust the rabbit ears just right and see if Dr. Phil or some other TV shrink can help you!

So basically, it really doesn't matter who is in the band... just as long as they RAWK.

You're a fan of the name.

Yup. I'd rather have Styx without DDY than have Styx-On-Another-7-year-Haitus!

You're a fan of the name.

Yes, I'm a Styx fan - that means a fan of their name and their trademark sound. The players are distant to me on the overall importance list. Not that I don't care to know some details of their lives -- I think that is fascinating -- but it's freakin' music, for cryin' out loud, not idolatry. Crimony, I outgrew that whole musician-idolatry stuff after my balls dropped.

It is the absolute truth. Without fans buying the albums and going to concerts, Styx could not continue.

Adam: Such denial. Years and YEARS of it. What's it gonna be, seven years? Like, after ten freaking years of non-stop touring will Froy STILL be pronouncing how "Nobody is buying" Styx?

Denial. Unlimited, unnacountable denial. Froy, you entertain us.
