Is that fizzled out as in like the 99 tour that you predicted would be their last, or is this an all-new froyism?

From Styxworld:

Hello from Los Angeles...
Hello Friends,

What a week it's been in STYXworld. Big Bang Theory hit the streets last Tuesday and we have been getting great reports from Universal on how well it's being received and that you guys are going out and getting your own copies. For us, this is the ultimate compliment.

That's what I thought. You make a post boasting this and that and you have NOTHING behind it but hot air. You should go to this concert, I'm sure they can use you to fill their baloons.

IMO, Dennis is the one who is fizzling out, not Styx. I don't see him being able to continue this much longer without a new album. He has done the orchestra thing to death. The "lost treasures" show isn't going to appeal to anybody outside of his core audience. Outside the mid-west, I doubt it sells well at all. I bet Burtnik would outsell Dennis in New Jersey if he does the Lost Treasure or another orchestra show.

It seems to me that Dennis is at an age and point in his life where he may find it more appealing to pack it up and retire then continue touring...just like Steve Perry.

Just look around and listen
I don't hear anyone but 3 people talking up this new effort
1 of them is Shaw
Even you know this is a filler project
It was foolish to have radio play all the songs at one time
There is nothing left
And once again there copied songs
Big deal nothing to boast about unless your insecure
Thats Shaw ,

IMO, Dennis is the one who is fizzling out, not Styx.

YOUR HO is never right so who cares
Dennis is pacing himself just fine
He has nothing to prove.
Styx does and there not proving themselves at all.
There worse now more than ever.

I don't see him being able to continue this much longer without a new album. He has done the orchestra thing to death.

That's a good one Monk
He's done less than 100 shows with the orch and you say its done to death
Styx is going on 700 wasted shows and no mention
Your more biased than Yogi with his love affair with Gowan.

The "lost treasures" show isn't going to appeal to anybody outside of his core audience.

His Lost Tresures show is the most natural Styx show going
His LT show is a STYX show more than any other going today,
If that does not appeal to you than your not a STYX fan something I already know.

Though I tease about the new lineup too, I will say that it is too early to tell anything about how successful this CD will be.

The important thing is that the fans of the new lineup like it. It was not a disappointment to them and this is what, in the end, counts.

Pick a topic, any topic, and the same rhetoric comes out here. This will fail, that will fail, they are on their last legs, Dennis is fizzling...and on and on and on.

For me, Big Bang is a cd the band did. Period. They will do another. They will continue to tour as long as they feel they can. Fans will go as long as they enjoy them.

Dennis will eventually release another cd. Dennis will continue to tour off and on, but never at the level of Styx. Lost Treasures appears to be selling well for few dates he's booked for it. Most of his shows this year are band, not orchestra. Regardless of what type of show, he'll book dates for as long as he is comfortable and fans want to hear him. No different than Styx in that regard.

I believe Dennis is doing more corporate shows. Not good or bad, just what he is doing.

As for the comments as to what Dennis would say if he read all this, I find them out of line in terms of their ignorance. Whatever he, or any other band member feels about all of this, surely it isn't helped by this idiocy.

Let's just let them do what they want to do and enjoy that, since, as it's been pointed out over and over, they aren't going to be doing it all that much longer.

My comments were in general. This is idiocy. Period. It never ends because people don't want to stop it. I didn't limit it to one individual.

And with that, I'm back to the shadows. it just isn't worth it to respond to this crap anymore.

Go Girls!!! What Bugsy and Sadie say - totally agree!!!!

By the way Monker, Dennis is happy what he's doing, trust me.     He has pretty many corporate shows going on this summer. He's currently working on his new cd, and hey, there's a rockin' song on it - so far!!!!!

Burtnik outsell Dennis in New Jersey? Duh!! I bet Dennis could outsell Burnik in Chicago, duh :P

He has done the orchestra "thing" to death? Really? So he performed everywhere in the U.S. where everyone seen his orchestra show? That's funny your saying that. I guess fans in Milwaukee aren't sick of his orchestra shows. They asked Dennis to come back and he is in July. There's about 30 of my family and friends going to this show. All very excited!!! I've seen his show over 8 or 9 or 10 times, I'm not sick of it.

We'll see how Carrot Styx fans are going to react with them adding more BBT songs to the set. I see that they already have 2 and now they're adding 2 more. So which songs are they going to take out?

Can you imagine how lame this show is going to be when They do 5 covers live ?
IF I want to see I Can See For Miles I will see The WHO do it
If I want to see Loco Breath Im going to see Tull do it
Not Almost Styx
Talk about alienating the fans cover tunes live is the ultimate alienation.

If they weren't going to take Styx songs out I can see them adding a couple to support their new covers cd.

Some people that go to current Carrot Styx shows are there to hear the Styx songs. Most, yes most, current Carrot Styx concertgoers will have no clue about the BBT cd. Just my opinion.

How many years in a row can you hear Blue Collar Man
Renegade To Much Time Miss America
Gowans wonderfull Lady and Come Sail away
It would be smart for them to dump them all and add rare tunes
Haven't We been Here Before Lights You Need Love Midnight Ride ect
If fact let Gowan sing Midnight Ride

Whaaaaaa, I love "You Need Love". I just don't think JY can sing it anymore. Does anyone know the last time he sung it live or if he ever did sing it live?

I saw Tommy sing "Lights" with the Bad Company tour. That song was awesome live. He took it out? Why? Ooooh, does he sing Mademoiselle live at all? Oh, I love that song too. Awesome song.

Here's a set-list from a show in April from Carrot Styx:

Blue Collar Man
Grand Illusion
One With Everything
Lady
Too Much Time On My Hands
Snowblind
I Am The Walrus
Medley
Crystal Ball
Fooling Yourself
Miss America
Come Sail Away

Encore:
I Don't Need No Doctor

Talk is cheap...you should know that cuz you do so much of it.

The fact of the matter is that the songs are still on the radio...something you simply do not want to admit. There is absolutely NO evidence that BBT is dying. It's in your wishful thinking imagination.

It was foolish to have radio play all the songs at one time

LOL...how do you know anybody told radio what to play? How do you know that Universal didn't just send them the CD and asked radio to play what they liked?

Big deal nothing to boast about unless your insecure
Thats Shaw ,

LOL...the 'insecure' people are usualy the ones who do nothing but complain.

That's a good one Monk
He's done less than 100 shows with the orch and you say its done to death

He's been promoting orchestra Styx for years now...it's VERY old.

Styx is going on 700 wasted shows and no mention

Out of those 700 shows they had BNW, Cyclorama and the start of BBT. Their shows today are VERY different then they were at the start of the BNW tour...which is something else you refuse to admit.

His Lost Tresures show is the most natural Styx show going
His LT show is a STYX show more than any other going today,
If that does not appeal to you than your not a STYX fan something I already know.

It does somewhat...But, IMO, DDY solo is not even CLOSE to being Styx. His orchestra show proved that to me. Also, I said it doesn't appeal to anybody besides the die-hardiest of fans...In other words, he'll sell more tickets doing what he is doing then a set of things like "Unfinished Song".

I think there will be a lot more balloon concerts and singing to toads in Dennis' future, if he continues down this road.

Once again Monker tells people what they should do .

I did not tell anybody what to do.

Im sure Dennis would look at your posts and say its some retard on his Mommy's computer , Im sure he would just laugh it off.

No, he'd probably think all of that bathwater has gone to my head...and that's fine with me.

That is my point...Dennis has no where near the appeal on the coasts as he has in the mid-west. If a no-name like Burtnik could outsell him - anywhere - it shows where he stands.

First of all, you are assumning they will take songs out when you really have no idea if that is the plan. Second, they could take out the medley and have plenty of time for two more songs. Third, having four BBT songs is a good thing - no matter what songs they remove, if any.
