I love Jennifer, Zan

On an answer to the original question, to paraphrase Tommy in a radio interview Tommy did for On The Record about Cyclorama in regards to playing songs like CSA and Lady, "They would love to play just the new stuff, but they don't want to alienate the fanbase. If they just played the new stuff and didn't play the old stuff they would disappoint some of their fans. Unfortunately you have to play the songs that got you to the dance.

If you want the mp3's of the interview, drop me a line and have room in your email.

What a load of crap
They alienate the fanbase by dumping Dennis but they don't want to alienate the fans so they play his songs
Is Shaw on Crack again or what?

If they just played the new stuff and didn't play the old stuff they would disappoint some of their fans.

So what they have disappointed 75 percent of there fans and Im talking fans who were around for 25 years ,

Unfortunately you have to play the songs that got you to the dance.

These two are the same song.

And yeah... I'm with Froy... you said High Times is in the top 10 worst and then you don't list it...

Consistency.... live it.... love it.... learn it :-D

I don't understand why this one and Lonely People get so slammed. Lonely People is a song that could talk about any generation or any time period of american society.... sad but true

Up above these ghetto streets
In penthouse suites they sit and stare
They smile and say they're fine
But behind their eyes they just don't care

No matter how many "friends" you have, we're still lonely people.

"Nothing Ever Goes As Planned" and "Lonely People" are GREAT songs.

If you don't like those songs then you just don't like Dennis DeYoung.

"Fallen Angel" is the best song on BNW.

I've always liked these two. While they were a bit of a departure, I thought it was in a good way. Much better than the direction DDY went on KWH (my opinion).

That would be like asking why does Journey play any songs Steve Perry sang in the band! Why is a Ford still called a Ford? Henry is long gone! Why did Styx play Tommy's songs in 1990? Because they are Styx songs.

The words in this song are so GREAT. And the music reinforces the disjointedness (is that a word??) we all feel, especially in crowds of people.

Oh. And don't forget that amazing note he hits, and holds, "So close and yet so far they share the secrets of despair." Oh my, DDY!

Great tune. These are the songs that the non-DeYoungians just don't get... but to me this is the stuff that defines Styx.

I think it's fair to say I qualify as a "non DeYoungian," and I really like "Lonely People."
