Amen! I liked someone's idea about bringing DDY in the play keys, so Gowan could focus on singing. LOL

And I like the idea about someone comming in to teach you to write a sentence properly
See I can do it also.

Oh masterful spell wizard, thank you for "comming" in and pointing out my typo. Naturally, I meant "in TO play keys."

And yes, to answer your previous question, I think it would be nice if you used a dictionary (and Grammar check for punctuation) when you posted. It helps when trying to appear intelligent that you at least spell simple words correctly. Take that for what it's worth, which, I'm sure to you, means virtually nothing. :-\

Gowan is not a fill in anymore. He is a PERMANENT member of Styx today!

For us ( the old time fans) Styx is back, and they have been back since they hit the road in 1999. What I mean by back, is back to being popular with the youth of America. Procuring a new audience. Getting radio play of their current releases, and not just relying on Come Sail Away & Renegade to be played every so often on classic rock stations.

The problem is that in 2005 getting radio play of NEW songs for 'Classic Rock' bands.

Gowan singing lead for Styx is being played and heard all across the country with new Styx music. What this amount to is that songs other then 70's and 80's Styx are now being played and heard.

It is a problem that pretty much ALL 'classic rock' bands today are facing. Well damn if Styx isnt now getting heard with new music. We all know they are cover tunes, but it is new for them, and it is giving them a tons of new exposer.

The voice behind that new exposer is the guy you want to dump. I dont see it happening.

Zan, That was REALLY FUNNY!!!! I can see it now. Gowan jumping off of Dennis's white baby grand piano. Do you think Gowan would let Dennis play his spinning keyboards???????

Thank goodness you added the LOL!! (LOL)

I think Larry is a really nice guy, but I just can't listen to his singing - on any song. I'm cringing just typing this. No offense.

I’ve heard people say the same thing about Dennis on the first verse of Come Sail Away. That would not be my opinion.

Even Dennis says that...about the original recording. Mercifully, he improved over time.

Glen was a perm fill in also
See how long that lasted .

For us ( the old time fans) Styx is back,

Back to what doing cover cds?
Is this the new Grand Illusion
Heck maybe it is you attempting to sell us the line of there back and the fact is there warshed up
I know I spelled warshed some people say it that way.

and they have been back since they hit the road in 1999.

Wow all they had to do was Dump Dennis and now there back
Man that was easy .

What I mean by back, is back to being popular with the youth of America.

Yep about 19 thousand of them
Back in 81 it was 19 million
Ok there back woppie.

Gowan singing lead for Styx is being played and heard all across the country with new Styx music.

And not a single person knows who is singing
Its a remake they say that was Styx and its a so what feel.

What this amount to is that songs other then 70's and 80's Styx are now being played and heard.

For about a week
Next week the jig is up.

It is a problem that pretty much ALL 'classic rock' bands today are facing. Well damn if Styx isnt now getting heard with new music.

What new music ?
Its a cover cd thats not new music.

We all know they are cover tunes, but it is new for them, and it is giving them a tons of new exposer.

And your point is what?
Tons of exposure?

The voice behind that new exposer is the guy you want to dump. I dont see it happening.

The voice behind all the exposure Styx got for 30 years was dumped because 2 members ran out of cash
It won't take much to dump Gowan
He's not a fan favorite as you can see by these boards
Only you are his boy friend.

I'll give ya that, Froy. The first time anyway. Glen's last stint with Styx wasn't supposed to be more than 30 shows at first. See how long that lasted. lol

Oh, go ahead and point out my mistakes from now on. Far be it for me to take away any joy in your life. :)

And I too, as are most on this board, waiting for his new album. I hope it is as successful as Styx are. After all, "His voice is one of the most recognizable in the music world today and continues to inspire new generations of fans."

LOL, that was pretty funny, I think you were being funny. If Larry was very popular we would be hearing him down here in the States.

Yes, Rush, Bryan Adams are Canadian so are Loverboy, Nickleback, Avril Lavigne, Alanis Morissette, Sarah MacLachlan and Bare Naked Ladies.

I hear all these artists and bands on our radio stations way over here. I just heard Loverboy recently on the radio :)

I've never heard a solo Gowan song on the radio.

I haven't heard a solo DDY on the radio since around 1984 or so.

Here's his answer, slow release schedule, nothing being released of any quality bands....yada yada yada or is that yoda yoda yoda.

Here's a better question, how does a covers album of late 60's early 70's rock make it into the top 50 and break into the hip hop/rap crap that is out today?
