yogi:
Careful Froy, its Andrews board!

Froy: And this is America

Adam: Well, ACTUALLY Froy, this is the INTERNET and Andrew is in Australia. He provides us with a lovely little bulletin board (which you love to come spew all over daily).

Froy: Just because people are tired of reading about it does not mean I do not have the right to say it.

Adam: True. And there is a Flat-Earth Society too. They have the right too. It’s ponderous, dude.

Froy: Im not telling any version
Im quoting Dennis

Adam: That means you’re telling Dennis’ version.

Froy: Its been 6 years who really cares about the truth

Adam: I think that may be almost as great a Froy quote as the one about sex being bad after it’s over…

Froy: The fact as I see it is Styx has degraded themselves
Adam: fans, promoters & booking agents for six years don’t seem to see it that way.

Froy: Im sure there would be allot of happy people if Dennis returned
Adam: True. And Im sure there would be allot of happy people if Bill Clinton returned to office. It aint gonna happen. (At least not for a while)

Froy: I’m not trying to speak for anyone but myself
Adam: well THAT’s a good thing.

Froy: Are they back to 1981 level Yogi?
Adam: they will NEVER be, dude. Nor will you ever be a teenager again. Was Styx as important in 1996 as 1981? Hello, reality calling.

Froy: Nobody is embracing Larry Gowan or his music.
Adam: Apparently, most of the posters who’ve heard the album on this board. That’s not “nobody”.

Froy: Today’s fan is not a true Styx fan
Adam: Thank you Froy for defining for us all what a “True Styx fan” is.

Yogi: Here are some facts: Styx has been touring without Dennis since 1999. It is now 2005. If the members were not happy or making money they would pack it in (like Glen did
Froy: They were going to pack it in Yogi until this foolish cover cd idea came up.
Adam: Sure they were.

Froy: I’m speaking from the heart Yogi
Adam: ie; emotionally, without clear thinking.

Froy: My coverage of current Styx is very fair and balanced.
Adam: You review a band you’ve never seen. You’re no different than the critics who’ve lambasted the band since the 70s.

Semantics...but no it means he quoted a statement. Please let's not confuse his use of it with being Dennis' version.

Adam: You're kidding, right?

Froy: Play the game your way and Im not interested.
Adam: Ditto. Your way is to QUOTE MY ENTIRE POST AND THEN NOT RESPOND. It's yet further damage to your position. You are the stubborn one here.

Froy: And do not take one line of what I said take the entire thought
Adam: Yes, mein Fueher. I'll be sure to do everything exactly as you demand. Because you make the rules, you insult all (including YOUR HOTST Andrew).

And this is America

No, this is MelodicRock.com...which has posters from all around the world.

I have the right to speak about this issue

Sure you do. You have the right to start your own website and say anything you want. Well, as long as you do not violate your ISP's terms of service. Err, unless you are your own ISP.

On a forum like this, you are given the PRIVILEDGE to post by the forum owner. That PRIVILIDGE can be taken away for any reason the owner chooses, or for no reason at all.

You do NOT have the 'right' to say whatever you want here. That is what Usenet is for.

Just because people are tired of reading about it does not mean I do not have the right to say it.

Correct. You don't have the right to say it because you don't have the right to say it. You are being given the priviledge to say it.

There is no joy in mudville in the Styx world

There is plenty of joy...you just refuse to be a part of it.

I am the voice of Classic STYX this oppression cannot stand.

Well, maybe you should go on a hunger strike or something. Cuz what you are doing now has no affect at all.

You have just about crossed the line into full idiotdom.... This pisses me off. You have no freedom of speech on someone else board. You are a guest in their house. If you came into my house and insulted the people in there and myself, I would not be infringing on your "freedoms" by showing you the rubbery end of my shoe on your ass through the door.

You have zero concept of what the freedom of speech means and what it entails. You do not have the right to speak without consequence. If you think you do, then you're delusional. The rules of this forum are Andrew's. And if he thinks you're in violation of them (or frankly even if he doesn't), he has the right to do whatever to anyone's account that he wants. And if I'm being honest - Andrew is much more tollerant of certain things than I would be... and I guess that speaks to Andrew's credit.

Don't give me this freedom of speech bullcrap. Take your lack of understanding of your rights and how they apply to a forum and place them squarely where the sun doesn't shine.

Of course it's censored. IT'S ANDREW'S FORUM. *HE* 'sensores' it. It's not a 'commy' board. It's a web forum, OWNED by somebody else. It is NOT controled by, or under the influence of, the US government.1

[quote[I have the right to say whatever I want as long as its not slander or 4 letter swear words.[/quote]

You are so fucking wrong. You don't know what the fuck you are talking about. I've seen people say 'fuck' here all the time. Andrew doesn't give a fuck, since I've seen him say it too. Ask HIM, if you care to.

You have the privledge to say what you want, unless Andrew tells you to shut the fuck up.

Shut up Monk

Make me!

Im not 17 anymore

Are you sure?

No 19 thousand cds sold is huge right Monk

It is TWICE as many as you repeatedly stated they would sell...and they did that in the first week. In fact, I wonder what Arrival sold in its first week, probably not much more...maybe less.

The truth is, no matter what happened you would spin it negative.

There selling out 5 nights in Chicago right Monk

Don't know, don't care. I just wish they'd get back to Des Moines.

There bigger than ever Right Monk

Of course not. But, they deserve more credit then you would even think about giving them.

Thats allot of Joy

Having a new Styx album is reason to be joyous. Having it get on radio and be one of the top fifty most popular in the US is reason to be joyous. Having Styx tour is reason to be joyous. Having a new album of new songs is reason to be joyous.

You just don't want to be part of it.

Ha! Lemme guess, you're a liberal?

Please.... don't politicize either man. Both of these men would reject outright your attempt to put them into a tiny little box such as being labeled liberal or whatnot. They are so much more than that it's really an insult to limit anyone like this. Besides, unless you've asked Christ or Ghandi what their political ideology is, then please shut up. I say this with all due respect.

This was laid as a rhetorical quip and likely gone noticed only as some kind of smart-aleck type remark. But whatever, you don't have to get your panties in a wad over it.
