Rumor has it Pink Floyd is getting back together for this one
Should be a great thing to see
Everyone said Floyd would never get back together and this will prove them wrong

Pink Floyd to reform for Live Aid?
May 19, 2005, 5:24:36 Legendary British rockers Pink Floyd are rumoured to be in talks to reform for Live Aid 2.
If the reunion goes ahead it will be the first time the band, guitarist Dave Gilmour, bassist and vocalist Roger Waters, keyboard player Rick Wright and drummer Nick Mason, have all been together on stage since Waters left and sued Gilmour in 1986 to try and win sole rights to use the band's name.
A source said: "They've all been approached and we're hoping they can put their differences behind them and join the concert".
A galaxy of music stars have already been lined up to perform at the spectacular July event - scheduled to be held simultaneously in London and Washington DC - to coincide with the G8 Summit.
Acts rumoured to be playing, include Paul McCartney, Oasis, U2 and Elton John in the UK, and Eminem, Madonna and Sting in the US.I believe the Pink Floyd "tour rumors" about as much as I believe the grand return of Steve Perry rumor ever year.
There is no rumor of Steve perry every year big mouth
This had to leak from somewhere..From pinkfloydz.com:
Gig Rumours OFFICIALLY denied. We have been advised directly by Pink Floyd's Management that there is NO TRUTH in the rumour that Pink Floyd are re-forming with Roger Waters to play at Live Aid 2. Nor Glastonbury.
And that means nothing the gig is not even offical yet
Just wait and see
Great if true if not oh well.I doubt very much that Pink Floyd will ever perform again, with or without Waters...Not because of band arguments, but because they don't want to do it any more....Kinda like a former lead singer of Journey.
classicstyxfan wrote:Ya know, unless they ( a re-united Pink Floyd ) intend to spend HUGE amounts on putting together a show to put all of their previous shows to shame, I don't really care if they ever do re-unite.
It's hard to imagine what they could do to enhance, rather than detract from their legacy.....
Come to think of it, you could make the same argument about DDY and Styx.....couldn't you ?

Styx detracts from their legacy every time Gowan takes his place behind the keyboards.
It's a point some of you fail to grasp.
The piont you fail to grasp is that without Gowan Styx would no longer exist.
yogi wrote:For some of us Styx fans, Styx detracts from their legacy every time we see the cover of Kilroy Was Here, or hear the words " I hit the switch on my laser video'.
Everytime you post, and we have to look at that album cover, and think about Styx turning into a techno band is when their legacy went waaaayyyy waaaayyyy south!!!
Would Styx of turned techno???? All I know was their final orginal release before they went solo was the ever popular Music Time. Pretty damn techno sounding to me!!!
Combine Music Time with Roboto ,High( It's My Life) Time and the solid??? ballad that didnt fit at all with the Kilroy concept Dont Let It End, sprinkle in a little War and here is where the legacy ended!!!!!!
Was this actually the same band that had sung Come Sail Away, Midnight Ride,Suite Madame Blue, Lady, Queen Of Spades, Castle Walls, Fooling Yourself, Blue Collar Man, Pieces of Eight, Rockin The Paradise, Best Thing, Renegade, Best Of Times, Born for Adve...........??
yogi wrote:As for High time being a great tune????? Its techno and its aweful. So if you were into Styx trying new types of music how about disco, hip hop, country etc?????
yogi wrote: Tommy and JY did get some MAJOR guts and they did try something new...................................... his name is Lawerence Gowan.
Yogi wrote: So I guess based on the words you just typed that it is OK for a band to try new things. So now you are cool with Lawerence and you wont bitch about the change anymore!!!!
yogi wrote:Froy,
I am glad you checked their drivers licences so you knew they were both 25 years old. You do know when they drove off the they cranked up their Spice Girls CD.
They could have been 18 Yogi but the fact is they were under 25
Stop with every damm word being turned into a negative spinAs for High time being a great tune????? Its techno and its aweful.
Coming from a guy who sleeps with Lawrence Gowan your musical tastes are far from reality. So if you were into Styx trying new types of music how about disco, hip hop, country etc?????
How about Cold war ?
Tommy and JY did get some MAJOR guts and they did try something new...................................... his name is Lawerence Gowan.
Thats not major guts thats major stupidity .So I guess based on the words you just typed that it is OK for a band to try new things.
Yea new musical directions not throwing out band members when the bank account is over drawn. So now you are cool with Lawerence and you wont bitch about the change anymore!!!!
Larry Gowan stinks out he goes.Maybe Lawerence & the boys can perform High Time live overseas in a few weeks????????????? Even he cant save that one!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sure copy Dennis even more.
CHECK MATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is precisesly what Styx did, and named it "Big Bang Theory".
Glad to see you agree, Froy!
