This is supposed to be informational. Not to start anohter war, but we all know how it goes. From Todd's site.

Todd,
Since a new album is in the works, I would just like to thank you for the Cyclorama notes that you provided when that CD was released, and encourage you to do the same for the upcoming album. It was fascinating to read your feelings on the songs as they were coming together, so I just wanted you to know that we (no frog in my pocket) appreciated them.
When you guys produce a concert DVD, is there ever the thought of using the different camera angle option, or would the cost of that be prohibitive? I know that I would love watching a concert and being able to focus my attention from performer to performer, as I would in a real concert. I am sure we die hards would buy this type of enhanced version, if it were not something that you guys felt the general public would be interested in.
Lastly, the last time I wrote you I complimented you on your drumming on "One With Everything", but the other song that gives me the "funky wows" is the snare at the beginning and the double base at the ending of Little Suzie. I know that you performed that live during the RTP tour, cause you did it in Buffalo. I was wondering if you remember if you performed it in Chicago and if it was cut from the DVD as it is not "a classic". If that were in the can it would be nice for it to someday down the road, see the light of day...
Unfortunately the closest you guys got to Buffalo this year was Rama Canada and I was out of town, so it has been a year since I have seen the band...the chills and shakes are annoying but I am patiently waiting for my next fix.
Waiting to take you to the Anchor Bar for wings,
Devin

Hi Devin,
I'm glad that you dug the Cyclorama notes. I might do that again when we go in and write, rehearse and record an original album from scratch. This current project is an all covers record (which will be slammin', by the way) and there is not the same kind of "giving birth" thing that occurs with original music. So I won't do it this time around, but we've had fun with this project. We banged it out nicely!

Your DVD question-----it's been almost 5 years since we did one, and the budget from Sanctuary wasn't exactly huge, so you work with what you have to work with. That's all I can say about that. I can't imagine we'll do one anytime soon. I've been a bit embarrassed at the amount of live stuff Sanctuary put out.......so it will be a while.
We did do Little Suzie the whole '96 tour including the Chicago show. I have a feeling Dennis DeYoung yanked it as it was not a classic. I was not around or privy to any of the post production or meetings regarding the final product, so you're asking the wrong guy. And I wouldn't hold my breath to ever see that footage. I'd be curious to see it too, but I most likely never will.
Too bad you couldn't catch any of the Rama gigs....they were both great. OK. Hopefully you can catch us in '05.
Thanks again and take care, Devin!
Todd

I remember hearing this in 1996 (Omaha) and liking it very much. I also think they played Lights and Light Up as part of an acoustic set. Does anyone else remember what songs you heard on the RTP tour that didn't show up on the DVD?

I saw the band in 1996 and sorry to say, I can't remember the set list. I wish I could remember.

I'm such a geek now, I bring a pad of paper and a pen to write down the set list from each show - LOL At Dennis' HOB show, I just took one of the set lists from Bugsy which she took from the stage which I gave to Froy - LOL

I saw the 96 tour too.......Kansas opened the show, Walsh was wearing a Knee brace.

Set list ? I've never been able to remember a set list a month later......

It's one of the reasons I love concert DVD's. They help me remember the shows I paid all that money to see.

By the way, 2 hours of Live Eagles on NBC Wednesday night. Fire up your DVD recorders if you like them, this just might be the end for those guys.

For Grand Illusions II, in Detroit, they played On My Way, Paradise and Queen Of Spades and Grand Illusion (opening song) was done as per the album arrangement (in the beginning of the song) best concert i have seen. that show rocked and it was the night the red wings won the cup. for the encore they came out in red wings jersey's. very cool

Yes, hence my original question: Does anyone else remember what songs you heard on the RTP tour that didn't show up on the DVD? I was curious if Little Suzie, Light Up, and Lights were setlist regulars, or if some other songs made an occasional appearance.

Lucky dog. I really like On My Way and I would've loved to hear it and QOS live! I also prefer the album arrangement for Grand Illusion. Basically, I'm green with envy, even though this was years ago.
