I had a discussion with my bro this morning. He's more-or-less accepted that all the rough demos are a lost cause, and that most of them were not of any value other than scratch tracks. The only things of real value to him were the vocal tracks of our new singer. I'm not giving up hope. Since those files were the final ones to be saved on the old FAT16 partition, I believe there is a remote possibility that they can be saved. So with those programs, I'll see if they can be retrieved.

I'm unworthy of the help you've given to me. I'll see if I can return the favor with the next cd trade.

An update for tonight. It's been 5 hours since I started the program, and it's 30% complete. So far, 113 .wav files have been found!

But rather or not they're salvagable, that's another story. we're gonna leave the program running overnight, and I'll keep posted.

The software finished this morning. And and we were able to salvage about 60% of the band project.

Many of the main melodies remain intact, but a lot of the extra layers and vocal harmonies (including the newest vocals) were lost.

But there is enough salvaged data that we can re-record what was destroyed. My bro is in a very good mood today, and so am I.

Hello there!

Well, it's been one helluva week: Girlfriend breaking up and car breaking down. Disputes within the band and a classic hangover! :shock:

It's been horrible to say the least but I begin to feel better now that the weekend is here! :wink:

It's been raining here too but the weather man said the sun will finally arrive by Saturday, if not I'm gonna look him up and smash a guitar over his head! :lol:

Just kidding, I'd blow the TV into pieces. :lol:

What's up for the weekend? Anyone for tennis? :wink:

Are you sure? Saturday could turn out very chilly on the beach, according to what I heard on the weather report. Sunday it will be warm there as well.

Thanks for the kind words, girls!

S-dip, there are quite some dishes to choose from. I use to go for Chicken or Beef Lo Mein, Marinated beef, vegetables and egg noodles in a flavorful oyster sauce! Sliced chicken, stir-fried with garden greens in a special Hunan-Szechuan mixed sauce.

Something like that, tasty stuff innit? :lol:

Yes, indeed!

Lots of the Chinese food over here is really Indonesian. We do have the Szechuan dishes but they come with rice or noodles prepared the Indonesian way. Tasty too, but different I gather.

I haven't tried Indonesian but we do have a Thai restaurant here where I go sometimes. I think it somewhat reminds of the Chinese food but with different spices.

BTW, I went out last night and I can remember everything! Ain't too bad, huh? :lol:

The neighboring town here supports 5 chinese restaurants. Only one of them does a decent job with the food.

I'm primarily a Thai eater. Nothing beats fresh spring rolls and baby corn dish, with a healthy side of spicy peanut sauce.

I do chinese once in awhile if I need a boost in my salt and grease levels.

Oh, it was great weather to go sailing yesterday! I can imagine Choco liked that, seeing how fond he is of water!

The festival yesterday was bigger than big... the city where it was, was very small on the other hand, except for the threelane roundabout I got lost on, because there were no lines to separate the lanes, and no signs to which exit I needed to take.

Because the festival was so big, it was hard to see anything of the bands. After Forever I only heard, Slayer were very tiny figures, but tremendously loud to compensate, and finding a spot to see Black Sabbath was very hard. There were videoscreens showing what happened on stage, but I discovered I don't like to watch those all the time. Being able to see the stage, no matter how tiny the people on there, is better. For Rammstein we had quite a good spot, we could see the show on the stage and on the videoscreens as well.

On the way back we got lost again... this time in the wood surrounding the festival park, with about 40.000 other people! Can you imagine what it is like when you are with such a huge crowd, shuffling shoulder to shoulder on a small path through a dark forest, and nobody around you has an idea which way to go? Claustrophobia was a word that was mentioned a lot at that moment!

In all, it was a very good day though. I'm still very tired, but I'm going to sleep my tiredness away at the swimming pool. :cool:

He had a great time indeed ... and it was better for him than the beach.

Nice to get lost on a roundabout ...... I see the picture.

Oh that's not nice if it is that big ...... but good that you had a good spot for Rammstein because that was one thing you really wanted to see.

I can think of somebody else in the car who would disagree with it being 'nice' :lol:

At one point I was blocking the traffic who were approaching the roundabout, because I decided to stop halfway an exit to take a look around... :roll:

And then it turned out I was in the wrong lane and had to throw myself into the roundabout madness once more...

I got up at 3:30am to watch the US Grand Prix and what a joke it was....6 out 0f 20 cars actually raced...2 Ferraris and the 4 worst cars/drivers of the rest. Now i'm really tired and have to work for another 10 hrs before i get home.
A shit weekend for the aussie cricket team too....beaten by the poms and the might of the 'desh :roll:

The Raiders lost, The socceroos lost....great sporting weekend :evil:

Cousins is the favourite mate....by a long way at the moment.

As for the cricket, Kasper was awful the other night - the guy is bowling off about 12 steps and still bowled 7 or 8 no-balls......and Gillespie was pathetic as well. I say get Lee and Sean Tait in there, give the Poms some 'chin music'!!
