This is a pretty broad question. Can you be more specific as to what you're asking?

Also, let us know how the queen show goes. I'd love to see them!

I'm a 31 year old single Dad with a 4 year old daughter. Currently laid off but hope that changes soon. Most of know me from lurking around here for a few years but had to scale back posting because the bitchfests between Froy and *add random guest* where just too much. :)

I originally came from a different board and the only reason I left that one was I formatted my PC and then lost my login/password. Didn't want to go through the whole re-register rigamarole. Besides, the layout of the board sucked. Then it moved somewhere and I lost track of it. Great people, though -- Zan and I are old-schoolers from that joint and that's where she was the Queen of Sarcasm -- seriously, too ... Bruce Campbell, eat your heart out. With Zan's presence here, I'm wondering if some of the others like Sparky and Balin(sp?) will crawl out of the woodwork here someday. :)

Speaking of Balin, he once re-edited and re-arranged "Highcrimes & Misdemeanors" that totally removed the whole "hip-hop cracy" parts and it kicked ass. Made the song much better and I no longer have it. :(

As for seeing Styx live, not yet and hope that'll change soon. Other than bickering about Styx here from time to time, I'm usually working -- either at day job (if I have one), on my own manuscripts, my dirtly liberal hippie leftwing blog, or a little online gaming on a server that I help administrate (damned cheaters!)

Those were the days, my friend. We thought they'd never end...Actually, the board now resides at www.glenburtnik.com/styxnet for the time being. Paul Holt set it up using the server space from Burtnikville because the other board was crashing too much. Feel free to drop in. You won't see much of me tho, as I letf with one finger in the air a couple of days ago. LOL

Speaking of, Sparky did the same thing a couple of years ago. haven't seen her since, but I hear she's got a life now. Good for her. Balin still posts periodically, and I'm sure if you ask him, he'll send you a copy of that souped-up HC&M mp3.

I still AM the Queen of Sarcasm, dammit! ;-)

Sorry about the whole Mexico thing ruining your career, that really sucks!

You got that right, the song "Killing The Thing That You Love" comes to my mind to the executives that made that decision, and "Goodbye Roseland" is to the good people that I enjoyed working with....

Sorry to hear about your knee...Are you still able to bowl????? 8)

Average is about 180, but with handicap I'm in the top 3 in my league. Haven't bowled in a league though, for a couple years, just with some friends once a week, and since my wife hurt her leg, tripping over a kids toy, only been twice in the past year.-ERIC

Sheesh, maybe we should rename this a bowling message board. I, too, am a bowler  Carry between a 180-190, depending what year you catch me on. I'm kind of the Chuck Panozzo of my league these days, showing up as a substitute on select nights

I'll add to the "bowling" part of the thread. I'm the captain of our team and no one could make up their minds picking a name at the beginning of the season. So I had to make a decision, our team name is:

StyxPackersFans

Yes, I wear either my Styx or Packer shirts for bowling - LOL

PschyoSy, I hope you find a job soon - Good Luck :)

stevebuk1, sorry to hear about your divorce, but I'm glad to hear about your travel/concert plans - Good For You!! I try to balance a family, concerts and traveling. So far it's been working out pretty good :) Please post reviews of your concert adventures, that would be great.

It sounds like all the parents and single parents on this board are doing a great job with their kids. Parenting is the hardest job in the world.

I'm glad to meet all of you on line :)

I thought I might bump this up to the top again as there are some posters who did not respond. Perhaps they did not want to (not a criticism!), or may have simply missed this thread.

I thought it was quite interesting to get to know our fellow StyxMelodicRockers.

It got WAY off subject there for a bit (Wow! THAT never happens!), but I thought I would give it another shot and if it drops off again, so be it.

OSL,

I hope you don't mind, but instead of everyone rewriting their posts for some of the newer posters I felt it would be easier to move this one back up to the top.

Well I guess I can add my two cents worth to the thread now that it's back.

Like ASH I live in the Nashville TN area where I work as a TV producer, editor and voice over artist. I'm married with two great kids ages 16 and 10. I also work part time in a discount bookstore where I spend all my checks on books.

I'm an avid music collector with well over 1000 cd's in my collection. It's mostly classic/arena rock but I have a little bit of everything. I've been a styx fan since the late 70's and saw them for the first time on the Paradise Theater tour. I love the guys music and think it's a shame that the originals have gone their merry way but under the circumstances I certanilly understand why it happened. I would love to see Deyoung if he ever comes to the area. I was lucky enought to see the "Hunchback" musical when it was produced here in town and I thought it was wonderful. I've seen the current Styx line up quiet a few times and will continue to see them when they come to the area.

Let's see what else, I play Bass in a local contemporary christian band which includes a regular Sunday service, I've been known to write the ocassional song and I have one called "Depth's Of The Fathers Love" that my dream would be for Dennis to hear and possibly cut, it has his name and style written all over it.

Well I guess that's enough for now....

Oh yeah I forgot to mentioned that I spent a wonderous weekend in Atlanta with the sexy Goddess of Sarcasm - ZAN- a while back. She was great!

I also came around here from the STYXNET BB, I still visit there occasionally but they never seem to talk about STYX anymore so I come here for the info and conversation.

for punishment, Styxmike's mom used to put him in his room for hours and made him listen to a reel-to-reel tape of nothing but BEATLES tunes all featuring RINGO on lead vocals....this is how he developed his pronounced hatred for all things Beatles !

To this day, if you approach him and sing "In the tooooown, where I was
born..........." he's likely to clock you in the nose !

OK, Styxmike, give us the real story !

Ha...hahaha...Oh my sides! LOL

It's just that Glen is so dreamy... ;-)

He and his lovely wife, Mrs. V., joined me, my daughter, and about 30 other Glen fans for a GREAT weekend. There was the pre-show party the night before, and the concert itself, which was amazing. My daughter and I sat right next to them at the show. They are delightful people. Much like everyone who attended that weekend. :)

Sorry it wasn't more "elaborate." LOL

Postby Leesa » Tue Jun 21, 2005 2:06 pm

guess I'm already exposing a bit of my self here lol.

I'm Lisa, I'm younger (looking hee hee)than my fiance DarrenUK :P
I have 4 daughters who I take much pride in, :D all are in college with one going to U of F this fall! woohooo I have a Lil Gator!

I was married for 23 years however the breakup was the best thing that could have happened to me.
I am successfully running a small business in photography however
am finding myself on a roller coaster ride with it, and contemplating only doing it on the side and finding something more stable income wise.

Photography has always been a hobby of mine and a self esteem booster, I shoot everything but Mostly High school dance/cheer squads, Dance studios, action shots of Football games and track at our local high schools,
I also do Weddings, Talent shows, action photos at dance competitions, and model like portfolios and my fav babies.

I have great shots of band members from Asia and Dare from the concerts I attended while spending much needed time with Darren In England. I met Darren Wharton, Richie Dews, Andy Moore and Marc (keyboardist on the road with Dare and manager  while I was there, personally sat and had a beer with them and now have new email friends as I'm making a photo montage to music for them of all the photos I shot, it's fantastic and I love that I can do this for them. I hear from Richie once every few weeks which is really cool, I have tons of great photos of Asia band members as well, as someone said in here about fantastic drummers, MR CHRIS SLADE is the absolute best drummer I have ever seen.
Now to my sexy Englishman lol...Darren and I met via the internet 3 years ago, "We We're Friends"~Dare~ for the longest time and bonded right away, helping each other through what we found were almost identical situations in life, instantly we connected, we met 8 mths later in person and I have truly found a very caring loving funny, fantastic awesome man with the sexiest voice in the world  I adore you Baby.
Darren loves Coconut and cake that has lots of nuts in it :P lol so I'll be sure to serve him his favorite things lol.
I love musicals with Grease being my favorite followed by The Sound of Music.
I have always loved Styx, Journey, The Eagles, Skynyrd, Clapton, REO, Jimmy Buffet, Fleetwood Mac, The Carpenters, to name a few, and my new fav band at the moment Dare and Asia, I'm not as knowledgeable as some of you are about members of the bands but have learned a lot being a part of this board, I enjoy reading the posts in here and appreciate the opinions of others and learning more about my fav music minus the crap said back and forth at one another, just not necessary.

I Love the beach and spending time with my granddaughter and love going to the movies when I can find someone to go with me. I like making photo montages into videos with the help of my daughter who has her own videography business, she teaches me quite a bit and I love it.
k enough of me babbling, thanks for giving me the opportunity though.
~Cheers~
