Styx = Miss America.......JY cant do it justice anymore anyways !

Leave BCM in but do the Bluesy version from Big Bang.

Dennis = Suite Madame Blue ( unless Dennis removes that annoying eternally held note, or holds it even longer so I can take a bathroom break and not miss the rest of the song ! )

Styxmike is right, I officially change my vote to any of the hunchback songs.....though they ARE long enough for that bathroom break !!

As a side note, I wouldnt mind seeing the Hunchback someday if it's ever performed in it's entirety...just dont want it in the middle of all that Styx material......doesn't fit well/ belong there IMO.

I think it depends on what you are looking for. I fully understand the songs aren't for everyone. If you are looking for all Styx material I guess you would be disappointed with those songs.

Like Styx, I think he has a bit of a problem. If he only performs Styx material, he won't create a new fan base, as he's competing with the band. If he performs only solo work, he won't have large attendance due to audience name recognition.

So I think he opts to showcase the songs from Hunchback that he believes to the best and tries to blend the 2 worlds. For me it works, but I can see how it wouldn't for those who are looking solely for a rock concert.

Like Sadie, I feel Dennis does a really good job of blending all the songs in his concert to showcase his varied talents. My only quarrel with the Hunchback numbers is that HE does not sing them. No one performs those songs as well as he does.

To me it has never made any real sense to do the Hunchback stuff (partly because he doesn't sing them and partly because the album really had no exposure). I have no problem with the other material he does and would expect to see a blend of solo songs as well as Styx songs. It actually does make some sense for him to do a couple from 10 on Broadway as that has sold pretty well and even casual fans I am sure know about that album.

A song from Styx actually varies, Blue Collar Man could go, or at least be replaced with the new version. It wouldn't kill me either if Lady went away, but I think we can all understand why its there.

The problem that both Dennis and Styx have is that the catalog from Styx and solo albums is so vast with the quality of many songs being so high in quantity that all could drop out a song here or there and there would still be other songs that we wished they could play.

I could stand to hear Styx pass on Lady for awhile.

I'd be happy if Dennis trashed any non-Styx songs (although I'd be happy to hear him play anything at this point in time, if he would just come close enough).

I would prefer no DDY songs performed by Gowan or JY (he can't sing Lorili) . This is where agree with Froy and IML Styx songs origanaly sung by DDY cannot be done justice and sond like cover songs if performed by anyone other than DDY.

So let Gowan do Criminal Mind and a couple of Cycle tunes and let JY do a few more of his rockers.

Dennis; any of the Broadway stuff....

Styx; Instead of getting rid of any songs I would suggest putting them into the medley such as Lady and Miss America....

Yes, I would definetly go to the bathroom if Larry sang Babe.... 8)

Good one, NH!

This was an interesting thread that got turned into more of the "war" that constantly goes on here. I really enjoyed hearing what folks had to say about what should stay and what should go. And a little humor is always fine in my book.
